THIS TUTORIAL IS FOR THE NEW BLASTER 360 NE !
This tutorial was written by Team Xecuter. If you use anything from this tutorial please give credits and also a direct link to this page. Also if we have made any mistakes or left anything out please let us now - thanks !
The official forum thread for this tutorial is http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46607
How to install the new Xecuter Blaster 360 NE
Install Time: 10 Minutes
Diffi***y: Easy
Tools Required: All tools are included in the package
What's In The Box?

1. Blaster 360 External Module (BEM)
2. SATA Cable (1 L Shape End 1 Straight End)
3. SATA Cable (Straight Ends 360)
4. SATA Exchange Unit (SEU) Cable (Connects SEU to BEM)
5. ODD Data Cable
6. SATA Exchange Unit (SEU)
7. Xbox 360 Case Unlocking Tool
8. Torx 10 Screwdriver
Step By Step Installation Tutorial
1. First, you need to take your 360 apart. If you don't know how to do this, read this guide. Once you have it taken apart [Pic 1a], disconnect the cables to the backside of the ODD (Optical Disc Drive) [Pic 1b] and set the ODD to the side for the time being.

[Pic 1a]

[Pic 1b]
2. Once you have removed the ODD you will see two cables plugged into the Xbox 360 motherboard [Pic 1c]. One is the SATA cable and one is the ODD power cable (this is the multi wired cable with a white adapter on the end). Remove the SATA cable but leave the ODD power cable plugged in as we will be using this.

[Pic 1c]
3. In the package, there is circuit board called the Sata Exchange Unit (SEU) [Pic 2a]. You will notice that each connector is color co-ordinated to make installation as simple as possible.
[Pic 2a]
4. Peel the paper off the back of the SEU to expose the sticky foam insulated pad [Pic 2b].

[Pic 2b]
5. Next you will attach the SEU. This attaches to the metal case [Pic 3a]

[Pic 3a]
6. Now attach it to the metal case like in the picture below [Pic 3b].

[Pic 3b]
7. Now take the ODD (Optical Disc Drive) data cable (#5) and plug it into the motherboard where the original ODD data cable usually is [Pic 3c]

[Pic 3c]
8. Now plug the green block connector from the ODD data Cable (#6) into the back of the 360 disc drive. Make sure it is plugged in the correct way around [Pic 3d]

[Pic 3d]
9. Now connect the the L shaped connector of the SATA cable (#2) to the motherboard and connect the other straight end to the bottom port of the SEU. [Pic 3e].

[Pic 3e]
10. Now plug in the other SATA cable that has 2 straight ends (#3). This plugs into the top SATA port of the SEU and the other end plugs into the back of the 360 disc drive [Pic 3f]

[Pic 3f]
11. Now you are going to connect all the cables to the SEU. Everything is color co-ordinated so its really easy. Follow the directions in the following 3 images to see exactly where the SEU cable (#4) connects [Pic4a], [Pic4b] & [Pic4c]

[Pic4a]

[Pic4b]

[Pic4c]
12. Now place the ODD back into the case and route the cables so they fit neatly around the ODD, everything should fit comfortably. [Pic 5a].

[Pic 5a]
13. OK now that's pretty much most of the hard work done!  Now it's time to reassemble the Xbox 360 case. First place the top lid as shown in [Pic 6a]

[Pic 6a]
14. Now turn the case over and insert the 6 screws using the provided Torx 10 screwdriver. The positions of the screws are shown in [Pic 6b]

[Pic 6b]
15. Now reconnect the eject button. Don't forget to do this or you will have to take the Xbox apart again at a later stage [Pic 6c] & [Pic 6d]

[Pic 6c]

[Pic 6d]
26. Now reconnect the other half of the case and clip the front down as shown in [Pic 6e]

[Pic 6e]
17. Clip the rear part of the case down as shown in [Pic 6f]

[Pic 6f]
18. Connect the side panel to the case (NOT the panel that the Hard Drive would normally connect to - this is where the Blaster will be placed. Note the red circle [Pic 6g], there is a small cut out which indicates which way around the panel should go (towards the front of the Xbox)

[Pic 6g]
19. Here's how everything should look so far [Pic 6h]

[Pic 6h]
20. Now turn the Xbox over to the other side. This is where we are going to connect the Blaster 360 [Pic 7a]

[Pic 7a]
21. Take the Blaster 360 external replacement panel and connect the green and blue cable and also the white block connector. Make sure all connectors are plugged in the correct way around [Pic 7b]

[Pic 7b]
22. Now plug the Blaster into the 360 chassis [Pic 7c].

[Pic 7c]
23. Carefully connect the Blaster 360 to the Xbox 360 [Pic 7d]. You should not have to use any force and you should hear the clips "click" when connected correctly. Now reconnect the Xbox 360 front face plate

[Pic 7d]
24. Finished ! [Pic 7e]

How to operate the Blaster 360 NE
The function of the Blaster 360 NE is very simple. You have Xbox 360 mode and PC Mode. For the 360 to operate as normal as if the Blaster was not installed switch both switches to XB360 and move the power switch to off. When you want to flash update your disc drive simply turn the Mode switch to ON (If it is a v4x, v5x Hitachi drive) (or OFF if it is a Samsung drive) and the main switch to PC. Then connect the Xbox 360 power supply unit and turn the Blaster 360 NE power switch to ON. You can now connect your Xbox to your PC using the X360 USB (Hitachi) or to you Sata card (Samsung and Hitachi v78 and v79).
You can of course use the power switch to do the Samsung MS28 12 second flashing trick. The eject button is pretty obvious too :)
While the Blaster is functional it has a green glowing LED. This can be turned off by turning the power switch to OFF, switching to XB360 mode and then cycling the power of the Xbox.
Here is a diagram of the switches.

When flashing using the latest iXtreme (use nothing else!) - your DOS screen will look something like this.....

Troubleshooting
If you get an error (Games not booting, black screen and no dashboard, error code 64,  Xbox resetting) this means that either one of the cables is not plugged incorrectly or you need a SATA filter adapter. We have tested the Blaster 360 NE on many machines including the older Hitachis that didn't work with the original Blaster and no filter has ever been needed for perfect operation. However there is always the possibility so if you need one of these ask your supplier. If you have checked everything and you still get the problem simply return the Blaster back to your supplier and they will issue a replacement. This will not damage your Xbox and you will be able to restore it to its default state. Do not attempt to flash update your firmware if you experience any of these symptoms.
