I put this track guide together for those who might need a little help getting into the top 1% on the leaderboards.

In addition, here is a track map that I traced in Illustrator which I have added turn numbers to. The yellow line is what I consider the ideal racing line through the corners. For reference, or printing, the script for the video is also included below the map.
The down hill approach to turn 1 should be started as far to the left side of the track as possible giving you a wider corner entry. Turn 1 is an increasing radius corner, but to carry the most speed you'll want to hit the inside right hand rumble strip much further around the corner then you might think. This is called a late apex for those not familiar with the terms used in racing to describe corners.
The fast and bumpy downhill section of track between turns 1 and 2 can be taken with the pedal to the metal with the right driving line. The slight turns in the road are deceptive, and by allowing my wheels to run up on the rumble strips, I can drive in nearly a straight line to the entry of turn two.
Turn two is a constant radius corner that has a kink at the exit, so late braking towards the back of the corner and a late apex will give me the best drive out of this turn.
In Turn 3 I try to run the car as close to the guard rail as possible. Keep accelerating over the rise at turn 4 while keeping the car as close to the right as possible. Brake early and aim for another late apex at turn 5 which will sets me up for a wide entry into turn 6. Let the right side wheels touch the rumble strip here before light braking and another late apex on the banked uphill turn 7. The inside line here will allow the car to maintain a higher speed through the corner.
Turns 8 and 9 are deceptive since the track has a lot of bumps near the rumble strips which can upset the chassis under hard acceleration. Try to stay towards the center of the track for the smoothest pavement.
Turns 10 and 11 comprise a double apex turn with the correct entry and exit line. Be careful not to brake too late into these corners since the wall can be unforgiving. However using the full track towards the back of turn 10 will allow me to start accelerating toward the exit of turn 11 a little earlier, aiming once again for a late apex with special care to not overshoot the pavement as the track is slightly off camber and begins to drop away quickly as the hill begins towards the start finish line.
Good luck and hot laps!. |
