Before reading this news item, you should know that Yu Suzuki is mostly know for games like AfterBurner, Super Hang-On, Virtua Fighter, OutRun and last but not least Shenmue. This guy is one established game designer! As others, he envisions Kinect to be the future of gaming:
There’s no doubt we’re heading toward the technology seen in the movie Minority Report where Tom Cruise uses his hands and fingers to control information on a screen. Microsoft’s new software is similar to that concept.
Besides this, he had more to say about a his interest for using Kinect in one of his never released titles…
Psy-Phi Kinect?
Back to Kinect, because that’s what this website is all about isn’t it?! Interestingly, Suzuki sees a possibility for his game from 2002 to work with Kinect.
Do you think the Psy-Phi concept would work with Microsoft’s Kinect?
[...] with the Kinect [...] the advantage would be it wouldn’t hurt your finger. [Laughs] I think it would be good to make it for Kinect. Yeah, maybe I’ll make that my next project, although, I should probably make the game a little simpler for the Kinect audience.
