John Carmack is very smart

I am pretty sure that John Carmack said very similar things ten years ago when he was talking about the differences between the original Sony Playstation and the Sega Saturn. I believe that John Carmack absolutely knows what he is talking about. The bad thing for Sony and all of the developers Japanese developers who primarily support the Playstation 3 rather than the PC or the Xbox 360 is the fact that the Playstation 3 is the system like the Sega Saturn that is diffi*** and more expensive to develop for. The Xbox 360 has more in common with the original Playstation because it is easier for developers to program and less epensive to make new games for. I believe that intelligent businessmen and programmers like John Carmack will end up giving much more support to the part of the videogame industry associated with the Xbox 360 and the PC, because those two are virtually the same; Live Anywhere from Microsoft proves this. The way that Japanese game developers like SquareEnix continue to give overwhelmingly biased support to Sony with major franchises like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Virtua Fighter is really disappointing. Men like John Carmack helped form the PC gaming industry because of their lack of bias toward hardware or individual manufacturers. Japanese developers like SquareEnix no longer seem to possess that kind of honor that men like John Carmack have. If Japanese consumers had any faith at all that management at SquareEnix would develop Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360, they would have bought the system. But I read that Japanese consumers and managers are Xenophic of Gaijin (Fearful of Foreigners). In other words, people in Japan will not buy things like American automobiles or videogame systems. And management in Japan will not do their best to sell things like American automobiles or videogame systems. Someone recently pointed out that the iPod has sold well in Japan, but I responded by saying that it is very disturbing that individual American products stand out so well in the Japanese market that they can be named based on how well they sell in Japan. I have really lost a lot of respect for Japanese third party developers like SquareEnix. I wish that Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest would be developed for the Xbox 360. I wish that Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken 6 would be developed for the Xbox 360, and I wish that Metal Gear Solid and Devil May Cry 4 will be developed for the Xbox 360. Sony gets so many exclusive games from third party Japanese developers who do not show Microsoft the proper level of respect. In fact, I would say that SquareEnix, in particular, shows absolute disrespect for Microsoft and all Americans. SquareEnix and Konami should forget about poor sales of Final Fantasy XI on the Xbox 360 and Metal Gear games on the original Xbox. Those games had already been released on the PC and Playstation 2 for a very long time. There were very few consumers who were interested in those games anymore. Microsoft needs to make sure that Japanese companies like SquareEnix, Konami, Namco, and Sega listen to what intelligent men like John Carmack have to say, because it will be a benefit to each of those businesses and also the Xbox 360 consumers |
