新版FS Global 2008地形插件是继FS Global 2005 V3 76米全球地形推出以来又一力作。虽然从FSX可以看到选项中最高可以调到1米地形，但FSX用区区2DVD容量来装这1米地形还是让人怀疑真实性的。
今天的FS Global 2008从原来通过航天飞机的4次地表扫描所得来的76米精度一跃变成通过63次地表扫描所得到的19米精度！而数据也从原来2005的3DVD猛增到6DVD（狂汗）。
这才发现.... 蓝光美.....
目前这款软件已经在著名的模拟游戏插件网站SimMarket上架，软件将同时支持FS2004 和FSX两部作品，售价为59.99欧元。

FS Global 2008 is NOT "just FS Global 2005 with a new name and a new package".
FS Global 2008 is a new product. It uses the NEWEST SRTM data (released by NASA in late 2006!) plus additional data from various sources. Resolution in some parts has been improved to 19m (!). Yes, this is 4 times better than FS Global 2005 and up to 63 times better than FS itself! And yes, even than FSX! Default SRTM coverage in FSX is VERY small compared to the whole world!
FS Global 2008 comes in two versions in one box, which makes it 6 DVDs. One version is for FS 2004 and one for FSX. Microsoft has considerably improved scenery management and interaction of scenery types within FSX. The new scenery concepts provide a more detailed and realistic far-distance view, textures adapt better to the mesh, the FSX default scenery is more precise and causes less (optical) conflicts and last but not least FSX offers more functionality for a seamless integration of mesh and vector scenery.
FS Global 2008 (FSX version) takes use of all these enhancements of FSX.
