Blackb0x FTP Server 1.2
譬如:PS3上是192.168.1.158,那PC上就设置为192.168.1.X(最後地址随便填,前面相同就行了)
6.若连线成功,会显示出PS3 FTP Sever上的各个文件夹, 进入dev_hdd0/game/XXXXXXXXX/GAMEZ文件夹内!
Backup Manager
Wired network 100Mbps can only get up to 10MB/s using FTP;
Copy from external to internal hard drive can reach up to 22MB/s
You can use a simple network cable to connect PS3 and computer, and upload files at 33MB/s using FTP if your computer has a 1000Mbps gigabyte network card.
PS3 has gigabyte 1000Mbps network card;
Better use a CAT6 or CAT5E cable to achieve the highest speed rate.
Direct cable or crossover cable both will work.
Here’s how:
Connect PS3 to computer using cable directly without router;
On PS3, Settings->Network settings->Internet Connection Settings
custom->wired connection->Auto-Detec->(Automatic IP Address Setting)
Do Not Set->Automatic (DNS Settings)->AutoMatic(MTU), do not use proxy server,
enable UPNP,press X to save, press O to go back
Go to system settings->system information, you should get an IP address like
169.254.154.x
(Private Network Only)
It doesn’t get an address?
wait for a while, it needs to be resolved to get an IP address.
Still no IP?
make sure your Computer’s network card are using automatic settings for IP address.
(Your computer should get an IP address in the same sub network automatically, say ,
169.254.154.y
Now run blackbox ftp server or backup manager with built in FTP server,
fire up your FTP client software on the computer, connect to the PS3′s IP address
the built in FTP server of Gaia Manager, user name GAIA1985, blank password
blackbox ftp server, login as anonymous user,
the built in FTP server of multiMAN: login as anonymous user;
the built in FTP server of OpenManager 2.x, user name OMAN46576 ,blank password
You need to turn off PASV mode in the ftp client;
If after connect the FTP client can’t list anything, turn off the firewall on your computer.
(For windows 7, Control Panel->network and interent->Network and sharing center-> at the bottom of left panel windows firewall, click it, then click turn windows firewall on or off at the left panel.)
Now you can upload files;
Don’t touch anything if you don’t know what it is, could brick the system if you delete wrong files/folders.
GaiaManager/multiMAN’s game folder could be something like
//dev_hdd0/game/OMAN46756/GAMEZ/
Tips: if your computer doesn’t get an ip address automatically, you can manually set it’s address to the same sub network of PS3.
Question: Can I get speed faster than that?
Yes or No, the internal harddrive can’t catch up unless you use a 7200RPM 2.5′ SATA hardrive or even a SSD.
Have fun.
