这是ubi内部资料的第二篇，是关于新王子的设定的，原文是海量文档中的一个独立的word文档，实在太大了，我节选了一些大家讨论比较多的，或者和传统pop中王子不同的部分
里面有大量的关键词来形容新王子的不同，还有用了很多电影中形象的例子来表示制作者要塑造的形象。

Journey
A rough and tumble adventurer the Prince is Sinbad meets Indiana Jones. An Action hero with depth, he’s able and confident, but should have moments of vulnerability.
The Prince begins the game having lost his way (and the donkey carrying the treasure from his last adventure) and quite literally stumbling into the path of Elika and the events that are about to unfold.
The Prince has a ***y streak that can get the better of him. He’s confident, but not a hardened killer or swaggering idiot. Used to the company of other adventurers (which can take on the air of a rugby changing room), the Prince uses a dry sense of humour and swagger to cover up the fact that underneath he is quite compassionate and a bit of a thinker.
Through the game the Prince will lower this mask and we will start to see more of the man beneath. He gains purpose in Elika and by being involved with something that has a greater purpose.
While we are thinking action hero, we don’t want him to be immune to the enormity of what’s going on. He needs to grasp the fact that he and Elika stand between the world and the end of the world as we know it.
Adjectives
Confident, swagger, dry, masculine, a survivor… he will need to show compassion and a hidden serious side.

INTRODUCTION
The Prince is an adventurer, a drifter, wandering from adventure to adventure with no real ties and always living in the present. To him, the past is gone and he carries no burden from it, the future is to come and will take care of itself. All that matters is now - the thrill of the moment, the next heartbeat, the next corner, jump and sensation.
Although he talks of being rich and relaxing into a life of luxurious decadence, it’s obvious that…for the moment…he’d never be content to settle in one place or to stay put for any length of time. This yearning for the open road and adventure has meant that he’s embodied ‘be careful what you wish for’, as he has constantly faced danger and challenges throughout his adult life.
His adventures, as with other heroes such as Sinbad, have taken him across the ancient world and into encounters with robbers, mad kings and fantastical creatures, but somehow have stopped him from gaining riches. Every time the Prince has accrued money, he has blown it playboystyle on a few days of fun, or his ship has sunk on the way home taking his treasure with it. As we enter our story, the Prince was returning from another adventure together with his latest treasures when a sandstorm hit and he lost most of belongings and his way.
What Does the Prince Care About?
Master of his own destiny, the Prince acknowledges no leader, no ideal. He has traveled light of heart, free from burden, never caring about anyone or anything other than himself. This does not mean he’s cold, uncaring or even inconsiderate, just that he has made no long term commitments or p_w_uploads. This life is not free from its downsides, it has left him restless, unfocussed, lost. He has never gained a greater sense of purpose, experienced true friendship, or committed to love instead of lust. This will change as the story unfolds, as he learns to care for Elika.
How Does the Prince React to the Supernatural?
While he’s seen some strange things, this is by far the most supernatural and incredible adventure the Prince has yet been on. He will react to the new sights he is to see with wonder, amazement, fear, or shock. That said he is swift to take things into his stride and to adapt to the situation around him. He thinks on his feet and is quick to action.
How Does the Prince Speak?
His sense of humour is quite dry, if he’s an action hero, he’s a young Harrison Ford not Arnold Schwarzenegger and should never become as caricature as either of them. Think a young Han Solo not James Bond.
Is The Prince a Prince?
No, while previous PoP games have started with a Prince, this new trilogy will follow our character as he journeys to become a Prince. As our story begins the Prince is an itinerant adventurer. Within the trilogy the protagonist’s journey will be his path to learn responsibility, to carry a cause, to change from wandering adventurer to become…a Prince…a true Prince of Persia.
The Prince’s Glove
Part of the Prince’s bounty from earlier adventures, the glove allows the Prince to perform certain acrobatic and combat moves. We might look to find ways to make the glove more central to the action, such as introducing a slot in it for ‘power ups’ special abilities. This won’t be used in PoP0, but could house an amulet that occurs in the DS game, and other such magical additions.. |
