List of PS3 differences thus far:
1) New chest in the back of Ritardando sewers in hideout with 2 mice on top of it containing Beat's new costume. This can be attained at a later chapter when Allegretto leaves the group and you take control of Beat. Head towards Allegretto and Beat's hideout and Sym will ask for help about someon else having a cold, which will give you access to th sewers again. From here, you can open the chest.
2) In Agogo Forest, once you are in control of Polka, the chest containing Pretty Clothes is replaced with a Peach Cookie. The Pretty Clothes can be found instead by going left on the fork and they are sitting in a chest right off the path to the left side of the road in a very green looking grotto area.
3) In Fort Fermata, the chests containing Rapid Fre and Oak Baton are swapped.
4) In Adagio Swamp, the chest containing Jazz's Falchion is replaced by a Club Clover. Jazz's Falchion can now be found in Woodblock Groves hidden in the 2nd section under a ledge on the left hand side (the chest is invisible).
5) In Woodblock Groves, the chest containing Recovery Gloves is replaced by a Star Cookie. The only Recovery Gloves available in the game now is the one dropped by beating Trick or Treat.
6) In Lament's Mirror, you can find Polka's 1st alternate costume located in the 4th section, "Mirror's Surface." Head up the ramps, and then to the very right off the level and go down 3-4 more ramps. Her alternate costume is in a chest at the very bottom.
7) In Aria Temple, the chests containing Imperial Guard and Oracle Cane has been swapped. I don't think it's called Imperial Guard in the PS3 version, IIRC, though.
8) On Sharp Mt, the chest containing Elegant Clothes is replaced by a Lion's Mane.
9) On Sharp Mt, the chest containing Chakram is replaced by a Celestial Hourglass. You can get the Chakram by beating Lament Mirror's boss.
10) In Wah Lava Caves, the chests containing a Goddess Bouquet and Resonating Wand have been swapped.
11) In Wah Lava Caves, the chests containing Mouse Metronome andScore Piece 16 have been swapped. Specifically, the chest containing Score Piece 16 is in Middle Section 3 after jumping 2 platforms to the right.
12) In Ritardando, the beginning of Chapter 5, when you take control of Beat, the sewers with access to the area with the children are closed. To reaccess, head to Allegretto and Beat's hideout in the South-East section of Ritardando to find Sym, who will ask for help about one of the kids having a cold. Accept and find the cold medicine to automatically be brought to the area. Remember that this is when you can open the previously inaccessible chest containing Beat's alternate costume.
13) In Mandolin Church, you no longer get the Crystal Brooch after defeating the Root Lurker.
14) "Death's Head" (weapon for Falsetto) was originally obtained by beating Rondo in Aria Temple but is now attained by beating a certain boss a 3rd time (part of plot, you wont miss it.)
15) In To Coda Ruins, after aquiring the Claimh Solais, follow the path to a teleporter that leads back to a previous island. The chest at the far end of the walkway contains Allgretto's new costume.
16) In chapter 6, go play Score Piece 11 outside in the Baroque Castle Gardens to receive the Crimson Brooch. This item grants auto-burst on whoever it is equipped too.
17) Crescendo and Serenade joins you at Ch 7.
18) In Double Reed Tower, the chest containing Cerberus Canine has been moved from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor.
19) In Double Reed Tower, there is a new chest containing White Star (a weapon for Crescendo) on the 4th floor of the West side on opposite ramps leading up to the Hidden One boss.
20) The chest behind the entrance of the Mysterious Unison previously containing Tyrant's Crown is replaced with Tyr's Left Arm. You can now get Tyrant's Crown by beating the Ogre King and Wicked Shrub in Xylophone Tower.
21) In Mysterious Unison level 2, a chest containing Power Staff (a weapon for Serenade) is to the right at the fork near the entrance.
22) In Mysterious Unison level 3 (check ElevenFours Maps under the 360 FAQs) The first dead end shows it has no chest, but it now does and it contains Morgenstern, a weapon for Crescendo.
23) In Mysterious Unison level 10 (check ElevenFours Maps under the 360 FAQs) the empty rooms now contain Royal Staff (for Serenade) and Royal Shield (for Crescendo) respectively.
24) In Mysterious Unison level 11 and 12, the Astral Lieds now give you 8 million gold.
25) You can get Polka's 2nd alternate costume in Tenuto after Frederic joins. Just go to her room and inspect the bed.
26) The Church of EZI, a new dungeon, can be accessed in Encore Mode during Ch 6 or Ch 7. You must get the EZI Free Pass first by playing Score Piece 6 with Twilight Juju on the Chorus Plains. The dungeon contains Glory, Mjolnir and Hell's Cannon (best weapons for Serenade, Crescendo and Beat respectively). You can also buy Crescendo's best shield for 50,000 G in the room before the boss.
27) I just descend all the way at Glissando Cliff after rescuing Phil to grab the Celestial Hourglass and I couldn't find it. Probably it's not there anymore at the PS3 version.
28) there is a very short alternate ending if you lose against the final boss |
