Launch Day Xbox 360 Consoles No Longer Under Warranty

News has hit the internet today that Microsoft has officially stopped covering the launch Xbox 360 consoles with their RRoD warranty. This doesn't come as a huge surprise considering the manufacture date and length of time in between. I can't think of a product, especially of the electronics category, that has a free warranty for 3 plus years. The news was confirmed when gaming blog Destructoid called Microsoft support and were informed that the free fix was no longer available for launch units; you can of course still have your broken 360 fixed for the normal price of repair.

seems because of new 65nm 360 solved most of the red ring prob...but as it is not solved completely, I think i'll wait for a while longer for the new version of 360...

双65出来了......三红率大大减少了......MS没必要需要这么长的保修期去保修三红以外的问题
本来这么长的保修期是为了3红才这么长的....现在机率大大减少了...那当然这样做

my xbox360 showed RRoD right after 3 years warranty, but they repaired it for free. it showed RRoD right after the update of the ugly new NXE.
