我也响应一下,引用一下WiiNewz中的帖子,我觉得这段话说出了事情的本质。不管TT(尤其是Marcan)是怎么想的,但其行为事实上是”又想当**,又想立**“well, i share your thoughts and feelings.
and it is marcans right to be against such software. even i would try to distance myself from such things.
honestly, that is just because nobody wants to be held responsible.
but it simply doesn't matter what we think, because:
nintendo does not want "unauthorised or illegal software placed on your wii console" to run on their flagship-console. (i like that picture. )
"illegal" obviously means copied software like backups.
on the other hand, "unauthorised" means homebrew because homebrew is not authorised by nintendo and as we all agreed to these terms of use, we go against the terms of use.
noone can discuss away that fact.
the example of a pc is not too good because a pc is built to use it however you like. you can even completely build it yourself.
a commercial game-console, no matter who built it, is a closed system and code that is not authorised by the maker of the console is not allowed to run on it.
that is what homebrew does, so in case of consoles homebrew is illegal.
don't get me wrong!
i love homebrew and i love opening the systems to be able to do whatever you want with it, but that doesn't make it more legit.
as long as nintendo is not officially confirming that it's ok to run homebrew on their console, homebrew is piracy just like i said.
and they won't. they already made perfectly clear that they don't want homebrew by trying to get rid of the twilight hack.
doesn't matter if they're doing a good job at that front. and they obviously don't...
another reason why nintendo doesn't want homebrew:
emulators...enable us to play all the games that you could purchase as virtual-console-game from the shop-channel. so that comes at least very close to copying/piracy, don't you think?
when you think about all this, it is clear that homebrew/"taking full control of the console" is piracy.
at least in the eyes of nintendo.
that's all it needs to be illegal.
i don't have a problem if someone calls me a pirate.
i'm just tired of this polemical and derogatory comments from people like marcan trying to make everone think they were no pirates.
we're all in this together, we're sitting in the same boat.
it's nintendos terms of use. they don't want homebrew. we're playing against the rules.
so my picture of stealing the ship is still correct.
and stealing the ship is and always was piracy.
a big fat "YOHOHO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM" to everybody,
