Blackstone Irregulars
The Blackstone Irregulars are a band of mercenaries that span throughout Ferelden. You can find them in most major settlements with a box of quests that need completing. A lot of the quests can be acquired from any of the quest boxes while others are specific to its location.

A Change in Leadership
Begin: Any Blackstone Irregular box (after completing all other Blackstone Irregulars quests)

Description: You must kill either Raelnor at the Denerim Market District or Taoran. You'll eventually have a Random Encounter at Taoran's Camp while traveling on the map, if Taoran's the one you want to kill.

Dereliction of Duty
Begin: Obtain this from any of the Blackstone Irregulars boxes.

Description: Your task is to "deal" with three deserters. Track down the following characters then defeat them and their bodyguards. Be sure to pick the Guild Supplies up from each of the target's corpses. Once you have collected all three of the Guild Supplies from these three characters, return to a Blackstone Irregular to receive you reward.

Description: Deliver notices to five couriers in Denerim. They're located here:

Notices of Death
Begin: Blackstone Irregulars in the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim.

Description: You must deliver four death notices to the characters listed below. Simply speak with each of them and inform them of the terrible news.

Irenia is in the Redcliffe Chantry
Larana is in the Spoiled Princess at the Lake Calenhad Docks
Sara is in the Denerim Market District (near the entrance)
Tania is in the Dirty Back Alley of Denerim
Restocking the Guild
Begin: Blackstone Irregulars in the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim.

Description: Collect 20 Health Poultices

Getting 20 Health Poultices is as simple as it gets, as you can buy them everywhere--and they'll even accept Lesser Health Poultices!

Scraping the Barrel
Begin: Obtain this quest from any of the Blackstone Irregulars boxes.

Description: Your task is to deliver three letters to these people:

Dernal Garrison in Redcliffe inside a cottage
Patter Gritch in the Lothering Chantry
Varel Baern in Denerim's Alienage
Brecilian Forest
Cammen's Lament
Begin: Talk to Cammen in Dalish Camp

Description: Cammen's trying to win back his love, Gheyna. If you want to help get them back together, you can give him a wolf hide from a Blight Wolf in the forest, or use Persuasion on Gheyna to talk her into going back to Cammen. If, on the other hand, you want to keep them apart, seduce either Cammen (if you're a female) or Gheyna (if you're male), then tell the other lover about it. Fun times!

Elora's Halla
Begin: Speak to Elora in Dalish Camp

Description: You'll find Elora in the north side of the camp. She has a sick halla that needs help. Use your Survival skill to calm the halla, or Persuasion to pretend to examine the halla. If you succeed with your Survival skill you will get some XP from Elora. If you failed, or just pretended to examine the hall, you can lie to Elora. She'll then kill the halla and give you the antlers, which you can give to Varathorn the armorer to forge into an item.

Elven Ritual
Begin: Examine the sarcophagus tablet in the Elven Ruins

Description: Find the sarcophagus tablet in a side room near where you encountered the ghost boy to discover the directions. Next, find the elven altar, which is down the hall to the east, through the door, then north down the steps. Follow the ritual's instructions in this order:

Examine the fountain to start its dialogue
Take the earthen jug
Fill the earthen jug with water
Leave the pool alone
Examine the altar to start its dialogue
Place the filled earthen jug on top of the altar
Kneel before the altar and pray
Examine the earthen jug on the altar
Take a single sip from the water in the jug
Take the earthen jug
Leave the altar alone
Examine the fountain to start its dialogue
Dump the water in the jug back into the pool
Doing these steps correctly opens the large doors in the room. Go through to find a shade guarding a sarcophagus with your reward.

Lost to the Curse
Begin: Speak to Athras in Dalish Camp

Description: Athras is looking for his wife, Danyla. Head into the East Brecilian Forest and find Danyla on the west side of the zone. Kill the werewolves around her, then speak to her. She wants you to kill her, but if you refuse she'll attack you, so you'll have to kill her no matter what. She'll give you a scarf to give to Athras, so bring it to him and tell him she's dead to receive an amulet.

Mage's Treasure
Begin: North end of the East Brecilian Forest

Description: Go to the northern clearing in the East Brecilian Forest, kill the ogres there, and examine the tomb. Kill the revenant and skeletons that attack; they guard a piece of Juggernaut armor.

If you return to the West Brecilian Forest, you'll find another tombstone with Juggernaut armor at the eastern clearing, near the south exit to the East Brecilian Forest.

Return to the East Brecilian Forest. When you manage to get past the mist barrier to the south, look near the pile of bones and locked chest on the east wall for another tombstone.

The remaining Juggernaut armor is in the sarcophagus in the Elven Ruins. You must complete the "Elven Ritual" side quest to reach it.

Panowen
Begin: Speak with the elven hunter Panowen after completing the "Nature of the Beast" main quest

Description: You'll find Panowen in the West Brecilian Forest. Speak to her and explain your actions to receive a magic ring. If you anger her, she and her hunters will attack you, and you'll have no choice but to kill her.

Rare Ironbark
Begin: Speak to Varathorn in Dalish Camp

Description: Varathorn is the camp armorer. He's looking for Ironbark, and there's an Ironbark tree in the West Brecilian Forest near the north exit to the East Brecilian forest. Grab it and bring it back to him, and he'll make either a breastplate or a Dalish longbow from it. You can demand that he make both, but you'll need to be in good standing with the clan to get them (by completing quests for them), or you'll get nothing.

Shade Campsite
Begin: Go to the campsite in West Brecilian Forest

Description: At the south end of the West Brecilian Forest is a campsite that seems deserted. Examine it and your party will be overcome by the powers of a shade. Only the party member with the highest willpower rating will resist it, leaving them to fight it alone.

Wounded in the Forest
Begin: Speak to Deygan in the West Brecilian Forest

Description: In the middle area of the West Brecilian Forest you'll find Deygan wounded. If you can cast a healing spell on him, you can heal him and send him back to camp. You can also loot Deygan's equipment, but you'll lose approval with your companions if you do this. Another option is to bring Deygan to Mithra in the Dalish Camp; exit the camp afterward and return, then speak to Deygan for a reward.

Or you could just kill Deygan. Schmuck.

Chanter's Board
Back Alley Justice
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in the Denerim Market District

Description: You must defeat three gangs, located in the Dark Alley, Dirty Back Alley, and Run-Down Back Street. Each alley has several thugs to kill. Killing them shouldn't be anymore diffi*** than the challenges you've faced in your travels thus far. If you're having trouble, back off toward the alley entrance to get out of range of the thug archers. After you defeat the three gangs, return to the Chanter in Denerim for your reward.

Bandits, Bandits, Everywhere
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in Lothering

Description: There are three bandit groups in Lothering that you must kill. The first is hiding in the fenced-in field on the east side of town (north of the river). The second group can be found just north of the first group. The final group is in the northermost alcove of the town map. Return to Chanter Devons afterward to turn in this quest and unlock two more side quests: "When Bears Attack" and "A Last Keepsake."

Brothers and Sisters
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in Redcliffe Village

Description: After accepting this quest, journey to the *** marked on the world map and pick up the journal from the corpse. Wolves will ambush you now, so kill them all. After you take out the first wave, proceed toward the exit, going slowly, as many more wolves will attack. Keep killing all the wolves until you're safely off the battlefield.

Caravan Down
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in Redcliffe Village

Description: After accepting this quest, visit the Caravan marked on the world map and kill all the darkspawn there. The Genlock Emissaries should be your first targets. Kill everything, then return to the Chanter in Redcliffe Village to end the quest.

Desperate Haven
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in the Denerim Market District

Description: After starting this quest, exit Denerim and travel to the refugees' location marked on the world map. Kill the darkspawn attacking the refugees (go after that Hurlock Emissary in the back first to stop it from nailing your party with area-effect spells), then return to the Denerim Chanter to end the quest.

Fazzil's Request
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in the Denerim Market District

Description: You must have started the Landsmeet and finished the "Rescue the Queen" quest to enter the Elven Alienage. Once you're there, enter the apartments and grab the sextant from a chest in the building, then return to the Denerim Chanter to complete the quest.

Jowan's Intentions
Begin: Visit a Chanter's Board after completing the "Arl of Redcliffe" and "Urn of Sacred Ashes" main quests

Description: If you freed Jowan during the raid of Castle Redcliffe, you'll find him later at a Random Encounter on the world map. When you meet up with him, kill the darkspawn around him, then decide if Jowan should live or die. Your choice!

A Last Keepsake
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in Lothering after you complete the "Bandits, Bandits, Everywhere" side quest.

Description: Head to the northern half of Lothering and approach this map marker, which marks Sarha's corpse. Kill the 13 wolves around the corpse, then inspect it for the keepsake. Return it to Chanter Devons for a reward of 50 Silver.

Loghain's Push
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in the Denerim Market District

Description: After starting this quest, leave Denerim and travel to the location marked "Civil War" on the world map. Help the soldiers here defeat Loghain's men until you defeat them all.

Missing in Action
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in the Denerim Market District

Description: You cannot start this until after the Landsmeet. During the "Rescue the Queen" quest, kill the jailor in the dungeon of Arl Howe's estate in Denerim, then take the cell door key off his corpse and free Rexel from his cell. Report back to the chanter in the Denerim Market District for your reward.

Skin Deep
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in the Denerim Market District

Description: You must collect 9 Corpse Galls and bring them back to the Chanter to complete this quest. Collecting 9 should be easy as you complete the quests in Redcliffe. If you manage to collect 18 Corpse Galls, you'll get extra Gold in your reward!

Unintended Consequences
Begin: Visit a Chanter's Board after completing the "Summoning Sciences Lesson 2" side quest in the Circle Tower.

Description: Wander across the world map until you have a random encounter with Trickster Whim. Kill the trickster, then find the nearest Chanter to claim your reward.

When Bears Attack
Begin: Visit the Chanter's Board in Lothering after you complete the "Bandits, Bandits, Everywhere" side quest.

Description: Head to the northeast corner of the town map to find three black bears infected by the Blight. Kill them, then return to Chanter Devons for your reward of 1 Gold and the Oathkeeper sword.

Circle of Magi
Five Pages, Four Mages
Locate the five Scraps of Paper on the third floor (Great Hall) of the Circle Tower to start this quest. When you're back on the world map, travel somewhere until you trigger an encounter with Beyha Joam. Kill him and claim your reward from his corpse.

Summoning Sciences
Begin: In the first room of the tower where you face Abominations, examine the books next to the table to find the "Summoning Sciences" note

Description: You have three exercises to complete on the first floor of the Tower. Before starting, be sure to read the codex notes, then search the whole floor to get an idea where each object you must interact with is located.

Exercise 1

Examine the summoning font to ignite the flames
Examine the Tome of Spirit Personages (room where first flame is located)
Examine the "Summoning the First" flame to summon the Spirit Hog
Exercise 2

Examine the summoning font to ignite the flames
Examine the Rodercoms Uncommon Calling book (on bookshelf near third flame)
Examine the statue of Magus Gorvish in the first section of the room
Examine the "Summoning the Second" flame to summon the Trickster
Exercise 3

Examine the summoning font to ignite the flames
Examine the Elvor's Grande Bestiary in the third part of the room
Examine the table in the first section
Examine the Spiritorum Eterialis (stack of books in the third section)
Examine the statue of Magus Gorvish
Examine the Novice Phylactery (bookshelf in first section)
Examine the "Summoning the Third" flame to summon the Fade Rifter. Kill it!
Exercise 4

Repeat the steps of the first three exercises (skipping the summoning flames)
After you examine the Novice Phylactery, examine the "Summoning the Fourth" behind the shelves in the circular study
Pickpocket the Arl Foreshadow to find a Codex entry you can't get anywhere else!
Watchguard of the Reaching
Begin: Find one of the Codex entries mentioned below

Description: Scattered throughout the Circle Tower are Watchguard of the Reaching notes. To complete this quest, you must collect them all, then perform a ritual with the statues on the third floor (Great Hall). Refer to the maps in the main walkthrough for the Circle Tower to find all the Codex notes.

When you've collected them all, go to the Common Room (westernmost room) of the third floor (Great Hall). Activate the three statues here in this order:

Vessel in hand
Sword raised
Sword lowered
Go the room in the center of the floor now and activate the statue with the spear raised. Now go down to the first floor and try to open the metal door to the basement. This triggers the arrival of Shah Wyrd. Kill Shah Wyrd to end this quest, then inspect the pile of rags for your reward: among other things, the Yusaris greatsword.

Companions
Alistair's Family
Begin: At your Party Camp, talk to Alistair until he brings up his half-sister.

Head to Denerim with Alistair in your party and enter Goldanna's House to meet his half-sister. She won't be pleased to see him, and there's really nothing you can do to help the situation.

Denerim
Antivan Crows Quests
To start the Antivan Crows Quests, you must first meet Master Ignacio via the "Trial of Crows" side quest. These quests must be completed in the order shown.

The First Test

After you start this quest, check the eastern wall, near the entrance to the Elven Alienage, for a Grey Warden poster. Read it, then go to the Pearl. Find the locked door and use the password from the poster to gain entry. Kill Paeden and his men, then return to Ignacio for your next two hits.

Mercenary Hunt

After getting the scroll that reveals the hit to be the Kaden-Fe mercenaries, leave Denerim and travel to the Kaden-Fe Hideout as marked on the world map. Kill all the Kaden-Fe men, then return to Ignacio.

An Audience with the Ambassador

You cannot get to Ambassador Gainley until you have completed the "A Paragon of her Kind" quest or side with Prince Bhelen during the trip to Orzammar. When you're able, head to the Orzammar Royal Palace and take Gainley out (he's got several bodyguards, so be ready for a tough fight), then return to Ignacio for your final hit.

The Ransom

Your final target is Captain Chase. Go to the Denerim City Map and head to the Ransom Drop Location. This is a wild fight with other Crows joining in, so stay toward the edges of the area so you aren't surrounded by hacking swords!




Dragon Scale Armor
Begin: Collect a Dragon Scale by defeating a High Dragon.

Description: During the "Urn of Sacred Ashes" quest, you will run into a High Dragon. Defeat the creature and then collect the Dragon Scale from its corpse. Bring it back to Wade's Emporium and he'll make a set of Dragon Scale Armor. It will be one of three types of armor: Medium, Heavy, or Massive. If you paid for the first two sets of drake scale armor in the "Drake Scale Armor" side quest, you might get a Superior set of armor this time. Once you have collected the set of Dragon Scale Armor from Wade, this quest will be complete.

Drake Scale Armor
Begin: Collect a Drake Scale from a Dragon's corpse

Description: Collect 2 more Drake Scales (3 in total) and then visit Wade's Emporium in the Market District of Denerim. He'll offer to make you Drake Scale Armor for free. Paying him or not will not affect the quality of the armor he makes, only the type of Dragon Scale Armor he'll make you in the next quest ("Dragon Scale Armor"). Leave Denerim and then return to give Wade time to craft the armor. He will not be happy with the armor he makes and will inform you that if you bring him 3 more Drake Scales, that he will make another set of Drake Scale Armor from. Paying is again optional, but it will determine the type of armor in the next mission. Give Wade three more scales, leave the Market District then return to collect the second set of armor.

Forgotten Verses
Begin: Find the scrolls in the southeasternmost room of the Ruined Temple

Description: After acquiring these scrolls, take them to Sister Justine outside the Denerim Market District's Chantry for your reward.

Friends of Red Jenny
Begin: When you complete the Circle Tower, check Irving's room for a Small Painted Box

Description: Find the small painted box in Irving's room. Later, when you defeat Zevran's assassins on a random encounter on the road, loot the corpses for a note (finding the note may or may not be necessary). Finally, travel to Denerim and give away the box at the mysterious door (marked "Friends of Red Jenny" on your map) at the southern end of the market district. Your reward is some Gold.

Hearing Voices
Begin: Find the amulet in the last room in the Abandoned Orphanage in the Elven Alienage

Description: After you find the amulet, bring it to the Deranged Beggar in the Elven Alienage to complete the quest.

Honor Bound
Begin: Ser Landry, behind the Gnawed Noble Tavern

Description: Ser Landry accosts you behind the tavern and challenges you to a duel. You can fight him one-on-one, fight him with your whole party, or refuse (though if you refuse, he'll fight you later in a random encounter). You can also lie about being a Grey Warden and Persuade him not to fight you.

The Last Request
Begin: Inspect the corpse of Ser Friden in the Run-Down Back Street of Denerim

Description: Once the Run-Down Back Street becomes available to you, go there and take the Journal of Ser Friden's corpse. Later, during the "Landsmeet" quests, enter the Elven Alienage and destroy the maleficarum.

Lost Templar
Begin: Free Irminric from his cell in the north part of the dungeon beneath Arl Howe's estate

Description: After you free Irminric, bring his signet ring to his sister, Bann Alfstanna. You'll find her in the Gnawed Noble Tavern in the Denerim Market District. NOTE: This earns you support for the Landsmeet.

Sergeant Kylon's Quests
Sergeant Kylon can be found in the Market District of Denerim.

Pearls Before Swine

Begin: Speak with Sergeant Kylon

Description: There's a rowdy group of mercenaries that are disturbing the Pearl and Kylon would like you get them out of there without killing them. Leave the Market District to view the city map of Denerim and then move to the Pearl located along the east by the water. Once inside the Pearl, speak to the mercenary leader. You can get them to leave a number of ways; straight combat with them will push them out, you can Persuade them to leave if your skill is high enough, or you can Intimidate them to leave if that skill is high enough. Note that the mercenaries will leave on their own if you have completed the Landsmeet plot.

When you leave the Pearl and are traveling to your next destination, Sergeant Kylon will appear in the street and thank you for a job well done. His kindness will be interrupted by the leader of the mercenaries attacking you. Defeat the mercenaries here to complete this quest.

The Crimson Oars

Begin: Speak with Sergeant Kylon after you have completed the "Pearls Before Swine" quest.

Description: Again, Kylon will need you to take care of a rudy bunch of mercenaries. Visit the Gnawed Noble Tavern located in the Market district. Either convince the group to leave with words or beat them down in an old fashion bar brawl. Either way, once you have forced them to leave, go back and talk to Sergeant Kylon who will reward you for you hard work.

Slim Couldry's Quests
Slim Couldry can be found in the Market District of Denerim. To get these quests, you must be a character with the Stealth or Stealing talents. Both talents unlock different marks/break-ins from Slim, which must be purchased from him and completed in order.

Crime Wave

Requisite: Steal ability

Marks

Lady's Maid: Located in the central market. Just pickpocket her and return to Slim for your next mark.

Ser Nancine: Located in Wonders of Thedas shop. You can pickpocket her, or use Persuasion to convince her she's dying to acquire her sword, or use Persuasion to convince her to buy a dress, getting her out of her armor so you can grab the sword. (Why's she'd called "Ser" in the game is beyond us).

Master Tilver: Located on the north side of the Market District, near the Mages' Collective. Master Tilver holds a key to the two locked chest on the south side of the central market, and has two guards with him. If your Combat Stealth skill is high, you can sneak up to Tilver and pickpocket the key. Or use Persuasion in dialogue with the guards to let you past. The third option is to pay a messenger boy to distract the guards while you steal the key. After you have it, unlock the two chests in the marketplace.

Seneschal: The crown's on the person of the seneschal in the Gnawed Noble Tavern, protected by guards. Use one of the following methods to get past the guards:

Buy the guards a round of dwarven spirits, then when they're drunk, walk past them.
Use Poison-Making to poison the drinks to knock the guards out
Persuade or bribe the waitresses to keep the guards occupied; note that they might be suspicious of this method
Use Intimidation to convince the guards to leave
Use Stealth to sneak past them
Just kill the guards
At that point, you can pickpocket the crown off the seneschal.

Break-Ins

Lady Sophie's Room: Head to the Gnawed Noble Tavern. You'll need the Deft Hands talent for this break-in. Unlock the door to Sophie's room, loot the locked chest, then return to Slim for your next break-in.

Warehouse: The warehouse is guarded by soldiers, and there's no getting around killing them. After they're all dead, loot the silver bars from the three locked chests.

Bann Franderel's Estate: You must be able to enter the Palace District to receive this break-in. Make your way to Franderel's treasure vault (which, incidentally, is empty), then fight your way through the guards on your way back out of the estate.

Bann Franderel's Estate: You'll need to leave the Market District and return in order for Slim to give you this quest. Use Stealth to sneak past the guards to Bann's vault, then grab the Tears of Andraste.

Something Wicked
Begin: Speak to Ser Otto in the Elven Alienage

Description: Otto wants you to help him find some clues. Look around the Orphanage near the south end of the Alienage for any three of the four clues (a feral dog, a dead dog, a deranged beggar, and a pool of fresh blood), then follow Otto into the Abandoned Orphanage. Protect Otto as he cleanses the orphanage and defeat the demon at the end to end the quest.

Tortured Noble
Begin: Rescue Oswyn from his cell in the dungeon of Arl Howe's estate

Description: After you free Oswyn, speak to him, then go to the Gnawed Noble Tavern in the Denerim Market District. Talk to Oswyn's father, Sighard, to end the quest. NOTE: This earns you support in the Landsmeet.

The Trial of Crows
Begin: Given to you by a boy as you try to exit the Denerim Market District after talking to Master Ignacio near the center of the market

Description: The message the boy gives you invites you to work with the Antivan Crows here in Denerim. Go to the back rooms of the Gnawed Noble Tavern and talk to Master Ignacio about some assassination work. You can accept this offer (losing approval with the moral characters in the group such as Wynne), or kill Ignacio here and now. If you want to commit the assassinations, complete them all, then return to Ignacio to complete this quest.

Korcari Wilds
Chasind Trail Signs
Scattered throughout the Korcari Wilds are Chasind Trail Signs, one of which is marked on your map at a time. Inspect every one (see The Grey Wardens' Cache main quest for directions to each). Once you've acquired all the signs, you'll be directed to a dead-end at the southeast corner of the map. Go there, defeat the darkspawn that ambush you, then check the end of the fallen tree to find a cache of nice items.

Last Will and Testament
Follow the east wall south from the entrance to Ostagar to find an altar with Missionary Rigby's corpse on it. Inspect it to find the "Last Will and Testament," which starts this quest. To complete it, you must unlock the nearby locked chest, then bring the contents to Jetta in Redcliffe Chantry. In return you'll gain some XP.

The Mabari Hound
In the southwest corner of the Korcari Wilds you'll find a strange flower. Bring this flower to the kennel master in Ostagar when you return. The kennel master offers 20 silver as a reward, and you can either take it or tell him it's not necessary. You can also press him for more silver, if that's how you want to play it!

NOTE: If you didn't play the Human Noble Origin Story, then complete this quest, and during a later Random Encounter Dog will join your party.

The Missionary
Follow the west wall south from the entrance to Korcari Wilds to find Missionary Jogby's corpse. The letter on his corpse offers clues to the location of a hidden chest somewhere on this map. To find this chest, head directly south from the Korcari Wilds entrance to the southern end of the map. There you'll find a path leading southwest to a pair of statues. The hidden chest lies between those statues.

Lothering
A Fallen Templar
You'll encounter a dead Templar on the bridge leading into town. Inspect his corpse to find his note and locket that start this quest. Speak to Ser Donall in the Chantry and hand over the locket to end the quest. You can request a reward of 1 Gold.

More Than Just Plants
If anyone in your party knows about herbalism, speak to Elder Miriam near the center of Lothering to start this quest. Miriam needs 3 Lesser Health Poultices, which you can buy from most any merchant. Bring them to her for 50 Silver.

A Poisonous Proposition
Start this quest by speaking to Barlin in Dane's Refuge and agreeing to help him make poison. Barlin needs 3 flasks of Venom. You can easily complete this task by first purchasing three regular Flasks from Barlin. Next, leave Dane's Refuge and go see the merchant on the south side of town. Purchase three Toxin Extracts from him. Now have your Rogue use his or her Poison-Making skill on the flasks and Toxin Extract to create three flasks of Venom. Return these to Barlin for 75 Silver.

Note that you can also get venom from the Giant Spiders on the eastern edge of the town, north side of the river.

The Qunari Prisoner
Begin: Talk to the imprisoned Sten in his cage just north of the center of Lothering.

Description: To free him, you need the key to this cage. Here are the ways you can obtain it:

Persuade the Revered Mother in the Chantry to free him. If you donate money to the Chantry, she becomes more likely to free him, and if you have Leliana in your party, she'll free him no matter what.
Pickpocket the Revered Mother.
Pick the lock on Sten's cage.
Free Sten, then ask him to join your party.

Traps Are a Girl's Best Friend
Begin: If you have the ability to make traps, speak to Allison near the center of Lothering to start this quest.

Description: Go buy three Trap Triggers from Barlin in Dane's Refuse, then use your trap-making skill to make three line traps. Return these to Alison for some silver.

Mages' Collective
Blood of Warning
Begin: Check the Mages' Collective bag in the Denerim Market District.

Description: You must mark four doors around Denerim as belonging to blood mages. There are two you can see on your map here in the Market District, so go mark those first. The next door can be found in the Dirty Back Alley. The final door is in the Dark Alley.

Careless Accusations
Begin: Speak to the Mages' Collective Liaison at the Lake Calenhad Docks, then check the Mages' Collective bag next to him

Description: As you travel across Ferelden's Wooded Glen, you'll have a Random Encounter with some adventurers rushing off to Denerim to report a blood mage. You can let them go on their way to end the quest then and there, but if you want a reward, you must stop them. Use Persuasion or Intimidation on them to make them give up, or just kill them.

Defending the Collective
Begin: Check the Mages' Collective bag in Redcliffe Village after completing all other Mages' Collective quests

Description: You must deliver a bundled testimony to either Knight-Commander Harrith (if you sided with him in "A Gift of Silence/Justice Must Be Served") or Knight-Commander Tavish (if you sided with him).

A Gift of Silence/Justice Must Be Served
Begin: Check the Mages' Collective bag in the Denerim Market District after Redcliffe is attacked

Description: You're asked to bribe Knight-Commander Harrith in Redcliffe (near the Windmill) with 10 lyrium potions. If this seems questionable to you, you can pursue the "Justice Must Be Served" part of this quest by reporting to Knight-Commander Tavish in Denerim about the bribe, but you'll still need the 10 lyrium potions as evidence.

Who you side with here determines which side you'll be on in the "Defending the Collective" side quest.

Have You Seen Me?
Begin: Check the Mages' Collective bag in the Denerim Market District.

Description: A man named Renold is missing. After accepting this quest, travel across the world map until you have a Random Encounter with an Abomination. Kill it, then check for Renold's Journal. Return to the Mages' Collective to end the quest.

Herbal Magic
Begin: Speak to the Mages' Collective Liaison at the Lake Calenhad Docks, then check the Mages' Collective bag next to him

Description: You must find 10 Deep Mushrooms and bring them back to the Mages' Collective to complete this task. Deep Mushrooms can be found in various chests, but can also be purchased from Lloyd's Tavern in Redcliffe, the Gnawned Noble Tavern in Denerim, Orlinda's in the Orzammar Commons, and Alimar's in Orzammar's Dust Town.

Notice of Termination
Begin: Speak to the Mages' Collective Liaison at the Lake Calenhad Docks, then check the Mages' Collective bag next to him

Description: Bring three termination notes to three apprentices in Ferelden. You can find Sheth in the Wonder of Thedas shop in the Denerim Market District, Fayd near the center of the Denerim Market District, and Starrick in the Frostback Mountains, in front of the main doors to Orzammar.

Description: You must collect the 5 Scrolls of Banastar scattered across the world. They're located in the following areas:

Wyrmling Lair (SE library, during "Urn of Sacred Ashes" quest)
Wyrmling Lair (middle-west barracks)

Thy Brother's Killer
Begin: Speak to the Mages' Collective Liaison at the Lake Calenhad Docks, then check the Mages' Collective bag next to him to start this quest.

Description: Clear the northern grove in the East Brecilian Forest of the ogres there, then exit the area and return to the grove. You'll find four dark mages having some sort of ceremony. Talk to them and start slashing them up. Alistair's Holy Smite spell works great, as it drains the mages' mana. Area-of-effect spells also work well. Kill all the mages, then return to the Mages' Collective to end the quest.

Orzammar
An Admirable Topsider
Begin: Find the Topsider's Hilt on the corpse of the Genlock Emissary in the south corridor of Caridin's Cross

Description: After you find the hilt, you can find the Topsider's Pommel in a vase in Ruck's cave at Ortan Thaig. Examine the Warrior's Grave at the southern end of Ortan Thaig. Go to the Dead Trenches and get the Topsider's Blade off the corpse of the Ancient Darkspawn in a tunnel near the south/middle area of the Dead Trenches. Return to the Warrior's Grave in Ortan Thaig now for your reward.

Asunder
Begin: Loot the three "Small Bloody Sacks" in Orzammar

Description: There are three Small Bloody Sacks in Orzammar. One is in Aeducan Thaig, and the other two are in the passages of Caridin's Cross. Find them all to collect the Bag of Limbs,, Torso in a Bag, and Head in a Bag.

Bring the pieces to the Altar of Sundering in Ortan Thaig and set them there. At that point you can choose to either fight the Fade beast (for XP), or leave it alone for a reward (Gold).

Caged in Stone
Begin: Examine the throne in the Royal Palace

Description: After examining the throne, leave your main character standing next to the throne, making sure to activate "Hold Position" under your "Advanced" tab. Next, have two companions stand on the arrow pressure plates in the southwest corner of the room. Finally, have your last party member to stand on the square pressure plate in the main hall to the south. Switch back to your main character now and examine the throne again. This causes a dragon to appear in the throne room. Defeat it, then search its corpse for the Ageless sword.

The Chant in the Deeps
Begin: Talk to Brother Burkel in the SE part of the Orzammar Commons

Description: Brother Burkel wants you to talk to the Shaper of Memories about building a Chantry in Orzammar. You'll find the Shaper in the Shaperate, the entrance to which can be found in the Diamond Quarter. You'll need to use Persuasion or Intimidation on the Shaper to get him to accept the proposal.

The Dead Caste
Begin: Find the four pieces of the Legion of the Dead armor in the Dead Trenches

Description: You must find four Codex entries in the Dead Trenches:

Boots: In the sarcophagus in the room to the left of the tunnel exit from the first bridge area, where the legionnaires are fighting darkspawn.
Gloves: In a sarcophagus in the room directly opposite the first with a fire-breathing dwarven statue trap.
Breastplate: In a sarcophagus in the room with the Hurlock Emissary who summons skeletons, north edge of the zone.
Helmet: On the legionnaire altar in the Legionnaire Shrine, near east end of Trenches.
Once you've found all four, head into the tunnel leading east to the Broodmother and examine the sarcophagus for the insignia. Bring this to the Shaperate in Orzammar to end the quest.

The Drifter's Cache
Begin: Find the four piles of rubble in Caridin's Cross

Description: See our map of Caridin's Cross to find the locations of the Codex-revealing rubble piles. Once you find all four, a new rubble pile will appear in the southern part of the map. Go there and loot the pile for your reward.

Exotic Methods
Begin: Speak to Herbalist Widron in the Orzammar Royal Palace (if you have sided with Bhelen early on)

Description: You'll find Widron at the west end of the palace. Bring him 4 elfroots, 2 lifestones, a flask, and 2 concentrator agents to complete the quest.

The Gangue Shade
Begin: Acquire every piece of the Legion of the Dead armor

Description: After you acquire the whole set of Legion of the Dead armor, have a party member wear it (this requires a minimum strength rating of 42). Head to the Dead Trenches and, while wearing the armor, examine the Legion of the Dead relic near the eastern tunnel leading to the Broodmother. This summons a Gangue Shade. Defeat it to end this quest.

The Golem Registry
Begin: Find the tracing of the golem registry in the same chamber as the Anvil of the Void

Description: After you have the tracing, bring it to the Shaper for a reward.

Jammer's Stash
Begin: Find Jammer's Journal in the Carta Hideout

Description: After finding this journal (in the northwest room just south of the doorman's room in the hideout), you must locate the common boxes of Jammer, Kanky, and Pique and take only the cheapest item from each, then check Jammer's stash box for a nice reward.

You'll find Kanky's Common Box in the room across the hall to the southeast from the room where you find the journal. Take only the Silver Costume Ring from this chest.

Jammer's Common Box is farther east (see the map of this area to find it. When you open it, take only the Iron Letter Opener.

Pique's Common Box is located in the room north of that one. Take only the Garnet Trinket from it.

Go east into the hall now and go north at the four-way intersection. Go east at the next intersection to find Jammer's Stash Box, which holds your reward.

The Key to the City
Begin: Find one of the five Orzammar documents

Description: Scattered around Orzammar are five documents. Once you find all five, head to the diplomatic cache in the Assembly and unlock it. Here are the five documents:

Commision Report (in Hall of Heroes)
Writ of Censure (in Proving Grounds, fighter's area)
Assembly Directive (in Dust Town, niche)
Document (in Orzammar Commons, on bridge to Proving Grounds)
Council Writ (in Diamond Quarter, behind doors to Commons)
A Lost Nug
Begin: Speak to the Nug Wrangler Boermor on the west side of the Orzammar Commons

Description: Boermor needs only one Nug to complete this quest, so check our map of the Orzammar Commons to find one. For every Nug you bring him, he'll reward you. If you bring back 10 Nugs, Boermor will give you a bigger reward.

Lost to the Memories
Begin: Talk to Orta in the Shaperate

Description: When you reach Ortan Thaig, open the chest in the main area to find the records. Return the records to Orta, exit Orzammar and the Frostback Mountains to the world map, then return to Orta for a reward.

A Mother's Hope
Begin: Speak to Filda in the northeast section of the Orzammar Commons

Description: Filda's son, Ruck, is missing. You'll find him in Ortan Thaig. He'll run away the first time you see him, but you'll find him again in his cave to the north. Use Persuasion to convince him that you won't hurt him, then agree to tell his mother that he died bravely. Give the news to Filda to end the quest.

Of Noble Birth
Begin: Have an illegitimate son with Mardy during the Dwarven Noble Origin Story

Description: If you are a Dwarven Noble, be sure to meet Mardy during your Origin Story and spend some "quality time" with her. Later, when you reach Orzammar, you'll find Mardy, who informs you that your son is casteless. Depending on who you're siding with, go see Lord Harrowmont or Bhelen and convince them to let your son into their house. Note that if you leave Orzammar after either has become king and you have not asked them to help your son, then you will never have another chance.

Precious Metals
Begin: Talk to Rogek in Dust Town (only if you have at least 50 gold)

Description: Rogek wants to sell you some Lyrium, which you in turn are to sell to Godwin in the Circle Tower. Use Persuasion to knock down his price of 50 gold to 40, then go see Godwin in the Circle Tower (if he's dead, then the quest is over). Sell Godwin the lyrium (you can get as much as 65 gold and a dagger for it if you have a high enough Persuasion rating), then return to Rogek for your reward. Again, use Persuasion to get the highest reward of 25 gold as a finder's fee.

Proving After Dark
Begin: Talk to the Proving Armsman in the Proving Grounds

Description: Agree to the Armsman's proposal, then get ready for two rounds of four enemies. In the first round you must defeat a blood mage and three warriors. In the second round you'll face a Dust Town thug, a champion, and two warriors. You'll get some money out of this if nothing else.

The Shaper's Life
Begin: Examine the Wall of Memories in the Shaperate

Description: After touching the Wall of Memories, you must find three rune stones in Orzammar:

Near the Mines Commander in the Commons
In the southeast caves of Caridin's Cross
In the chamber east of the first bridge in the Dead Trenches
After touching all three runestones, return to the Wall of Memories and examine it again for your reward.

Thief in the House of Learning
Begin: Talk to Shaper Assistant Milldrate in the Shaperate

Description: Someone's stolen a tome from the Shaperate! Go to Dust Town and get the proving receipt from Shady Corebit. Go to the Proving Grounds next and talk to Fixer Gredin. Demand that he give you the "A Volume of Shaper History" book. At this point, you can either return the book to Assistant Milldrate in the Shaperate, or sell the book to Go-To Jertrin in the Proving Grounds.

An Unlikely Scholar
Begin: Speak to Dagna on the west side of the Orzammar Commons

Description: You must complete the "Broken Circle" main quest before you can complete this one. Agree to speak to the Circle of Magi about letting Dagna study with them. If Irving is in charge, he'll let Dagna study, but if he's dead and Greagoir is in charge, then she will be denied. Return the news to Dagna, who has moved to the northeast corner of the Orzammar Commons.

Zerlinda's Woe
Begin: Speak with Zerlinda in Dust Town

Description: Zerlinda's father has disowned her, so agree to help her out. Go to the Tapster's Tavern in Orzammar Commons and talk to her father, Ordel. Tell him Zerlinda will die if he does not take her back, then pass a Persuasion check to seal the deal. If you fail the check, you can tell Zerlinda to go to the surface. If you have completed the "The Chant in the Deeps" side quest to set up a Chantry in Orzammar, talk to Brother Burkel to get him to take her in. You can also tell Zerlinda to leave her child in the Deep Roads by passing a Persuasion check.

Ostagar
After you finish your origin story and enter the camp, you can initiate two side quests.

The Hungry Deserter
There is a deserter in a cage near the infirmary. Your dialog choices after you start a conversation with him can open up this quest if you want something in return for getting him food. If you get the key from him, come back after completing the "Tainted Blood" and "Grey Wardens' Cache" quests in the Korcari Wilds to open the chest (after darkness falls and the NPC mage has gone to bed).

The Mabari Hound
Begin: If you are not of a Human Noble origin, you can talk to the Kennel Master in Ostagar to start this quest.

Description: Speak to the Kennel Master and you will find out that one of his hounds is sick from exposure to Darkspawn blood. You can get the hound to trust you and eat, but the Kennel Master needs a special flower (white with red center) that grows near the water in the southwest portion of the Korcari Wilds in order to fully heal the dog. If you bring the flower to him, later in the story you will gain the dog as a companion during a random encounter.

Party Camp
Enchantment
Approach the two dwarfs you saved in Lothering and speak to the boy. Ask him about enchanting. Just speaking to him ends this quest.

Redcliffe
The Dwarven Veteran
Begin: Talk to Murdock about Dwyn

Description: Head to Dwyn's house to the southeast. Dwyn's a stubborn little dwarf, so you're going to have to play hardball with him. Either pick the lock on his door or kick it down, then use persuasion or intimidation to force him into joining Murdock's militia. If you fail, he won't join the militia, and if you kill him, you'll lower the morale of the militia.

Every Little Bit Helps
Begin: Examine the barrel in the Redcliffe General Store there to find some lamp oil

Description: After finding the oil, return to Ser Perth and speak to him about the barrels to set a flame trap for the monsters.

Lost in the Castle
Begin: Talk to Owen in the Redcliffe Village smithy and promise to find his daughter Valena

Description: When you finally make it into Redcliffe Castle, locate Valena near the east side of Redcliffe Castle's main floor (see the map in this section of the guide to locate her. After freeing her, return to Owen in the village to confirm she made it out safely. If you do not rescue Valena before the "The Possessed Child" quest is completed, she will be forever lost. If this is the case, you can still see Owen for a reward, if you lie. If you tell the truth, he will kill himself.

The Maker's Shield
Begin: Speak with Ser Perth about Mother Hannah

Description: After speaking with Ser Perth about her, head to the Chantry and talk to Mother Hannah. Use Persuasion or Intimidation on her until she agrees to give Ser Perth some amulets for the coming battle. Return to Ser Perth to give him the good news. Be warned, though: Leliana does not approve of this trickery, and you'll lose 5 points with her for this if she's in your party.

A Missing Child
Begin: Talk to Kaitlyn in the Chantry

Description: Exit the Chantry and enter Kaitlyn's home immediately to the southeast. Enter the room ahead on the right to find her son hiding in the dresser. While you're talk to Bevin, persuade/intimidate him into giving you the key to the locked chest on the second floor of the house, which contains The Green Blade. On your way to the stairs going up, be sure to read the book for a Codex Note, and check the bookshelf upstairs for another note.

Return to Kaitlyn now to end this quest.

Spy!
Begin: Speak to Bella or Lloyd in the tavern

Description: Talk to Bella or Lloyd to learn the name of Berwick, who's sitting in the tavern. Now approach Berwick (or pickpocket a letter from him first) and talk him into revealing himself as a spy for Loghain. Having Leliana in your party will help you accomplish this, as will Zevran. Once he admits he's a spy, don't let him leave for the Chantry. Instead, force him to join the militia (which will net you +2 approval from Sten), or just kill him.

A Stiff Drink to Dull the Pain
Begin: Talk to the Militiamen in the Redcliffe Tavern

Description: The Militiamen are complaining about not getting free ale from the bartender, Lloyd. Go talk to Lloyd (be sure to check the graffiti next to him for a Codex Note) and use Persuasion or Intimidation to convince him to give the men free drinks. You can even become a partner in the business (though Wynne won't approve at all)! You can also pay for their drinks yourself. After the battle that night, return to Lloyd and he'll give you something for helping out.

Description: Dispose of the bodies in the Market, Warehouse, and Pearl

The first body bag is in an alley at the north end of the Denerim Market District. The dump site is a well on the other side of the wall, directly to the west.

Head to the warehouse next in the south part of the Market District. Collect the body from the south room, leave, then dump it at the north well.

Finally, leave the Market District and go to the Pearl. Get the body from the SE room, then return to the Market District to dump the body in the well.

Return to the bartender at the Gnawed Noble tavern to complete the quest and get your reward.

Sign of Safe Passage
Begin: Speak to the Bartender in the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim after completing the "Solving Problems" side quest

Description: Go to the firing point, which is located east of the south entrance of the the Brecilian West Forest. Have your main character equip a bow and fire the arrow from the marked point. Kill the mercenaries that show up, then check the corpses for the folded missive.

False Witness
Begin: Speak to the Bartender in the Gnawed Noble Tavern in Denerim after completing the "Sign of Safe Passage" side quest

Kill him and his men, then return to the bartender at the Gnawed Noble Tavern for your reward.

Dead Drops

Description: You've got three payments to deliver. Go to the following locations and check the map to find the drop spots:

Description: First you must signal three people with K's special wink and nod. Signal the guard contact after that, then exit the Market District. Travel across the Denerim city map until you have a Random Encounter with D's lieutenant. Kill him, loot his corpse for directions to D's hideout, then go there. Kill D, then return to the Gnawed Noble Tavern bartender for your reward.

NOTE: Completing this quest removes the end of the "K" quests.
