日本上周如龙4卖了35万 真假未知
Sega's Yakuza 4 had an excellent opening in Japan, but the week one debut was not meaningfully different than the previous installment in the series.
Summary & A Look Ahead:
Software sales were strong in Japan this week. Yakuza 4 debuted for PS3 at just over 350,000 units, essentially matching the week one of Yakuza 3. With a bigger PS3 base, Yakuza 4 may decline slower than its predecessor, but given how similar week one is for Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4 it looks like it is almost the exact same customer base purchasing the game, at least initially. Still, there are reports that Yakuza 4 had a higher initial shipment than Yakuza 3, which suggests better day one figures and/or longer legs. We shall see. Gundam Assault Survive for PSP was the other major debut for the week, coming in at over 110,000.
With Yakuza 4 now out, the most preordered games in Japan are Shin Hokuto for PS3 and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 for DS. The former has about 100,000 preorders while the latter has 70,000 preorders.
Understanding the Japanese Preview:
Rather than saying x game for y platform sold between 20,000 and 28,000 units as in the past, the preliminary data will be broken down into charts by platform. Within these charts, there will two additional categories besides the rounded sales figure under ‘sales’. On the left will be ‘low end’ depicting the lowest amount the title likely sold for the week, while to the right will be ‘high end’ depicting the highest amount the title likely sold for the week. As always, this data is preliminary, and therefore, not final, but it is based on a sample. The varying platform market share the sample represents is why consistent sellers like Wii Fit do not always appear in the preliminary data. Sales for this report are for the week ending March 21, 2010.
Software by Platform:
Wii Software – Two Wii games charted in the preliminary data. New Super Mario Bros. Wii fell to 33,000 units for the week but remained the top selling Wii game in Japan. Wii Fit Plus + Balance Board charted at 9,000 units. With the non-bundled Wii Fit Plus, sales should come to 20,000 units or so. Wii Sports Resort and Mario Kart Wii should also be over 5,000 units for the week in the final data. Expect Wii hardware sales to fall into the 27,000 to 31,000 unit range for the week.
Preliminary Top Twenty Wii Software Sales Low End High End
New Super Mario Bros. Wii 33,000 30,000 36,000
Wii Fit Plus (w/ balance board) 9,000 7,000 11,000
PS3 Software – Three PS3 games charted in the preliminary data. Yakuza 4 debuted to sales of 357,000 units, strikingly similar to its predecessor, and easily amongst the strongest debuts on PS3 in Japan. ***: Bad Company 2 fell to 10,000 units in its second week. Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition fell to 6,000 units for the week. Nobunaga should also top 5,000 units in the final data. Yakuza 3 lifted PS3 20,000 units in its 2009 debut. With similar sales and the Yakuza fan base on PS3, there won’t be much of a lift this week for PS3 hardware. Expect PS3 hardware sales to remain in the 26,000 to 30,000 unit range for the week.
