In an interview with Japanese show “Love Cars!”, Yamauchi hinted at updates to GT5’s damage modeling:

“In GT5, NASCAR cars will able to smash into little pieces – some the size of a bolt.”

This sounds like a significant progression from what we’ve seen on the WRC cars so far, and it actually isn’t the first time he has mentioned a more violent damage model. He also states he will be able to reveal the release date of the game “soon” (presumably at E3 in June). The problem is that this interview is on video, so we can’t rely on bungled Google translations to see if there’s any other tidbits that we might be missing.
