The Telegraph of London reports that U.K. retailers are experiencing a pre-sale inventory shortage of Kinect, the hands-free motion controller for Xbox 360 that's shipping Nov. 10.
A Microsoft spokesperson told seattlepi.com that GameStop also had to "re-up" its Kinect orders after initially selling out, thanks to higher-than-expected pre-sales. The upcoming add-on also has been driving video-game accessory sales and has pushed the Xbox 360 into the top sales spot for the past four months, according to NPD Group.
"Pre-orders have demonstrated that there is exceptional consumer excitement and demand for Kinect, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Kinect for Xbox 360 is available for the Christmas season," Microsoft told the Telegraph.

UK retailer GAME has also said it has sold out of Kinect more than a month before launch. Their website now has the following message:
"GET PRIORITY PLACE IN THE QUEUE"
"Kinect, the amazing new gizmo for Xbox 360, is selling out fast. We've already hit our limit for launch but you can still preorder with us right here at game.co.uk for a priority place in the queue. As soon as we have more stock in, we will make sure we get your order to you."

Play.com is taking Kinect preorders but no longer promising them for launch.
Amazon's UK site has stopped taking Kinect preorders entirely and you must sign-up to be notified when they are available.

Microsoft has admitted that there has been `exceptional demand' for Kinect as pre-orders sell out across the UK.
GAME, Amazon and Play have already sold out of the initial allocation of Kinect stock.
And Microsoft has told MCV it is `working hard' to ensure there is enough Kinects in the channel for the Christmas period. The firm says it is releasing more Kinects to retail than any previous Xbox launch.
"We are excited about the launch of Kinect for Xbox 360 in the UK and are looking forward to transforming entertainment experiences in homes across the world," said a Microsoft spokesperson.
"Over the course of just three weeks in November, we're launching across every market where Xbox 360 is sold and will have more units of Kinect available than any other Xbox launch. Pre-orders have demonstrated that there is exceptional consumer excitement and demand for Kinect and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Kinect for Xbox 360 is available for the Christmas season.""
看了下英国和加拿大的亚马逊，也是预定不能，美国的亚马逊还能预定，gamespot和newegg已经停止预定，现在唯一的希望就是港版别定光了  . |
