Killzone is the highly anticipated PlayStation 2 first-person shooter from Guerilla Games. It's a title many are hoping will be the Halo-killer we've all been longing for. We'll not know whether it achieves such high standing until the final rolls around this fall. Regardless, Sony has apparently already commissioned Guerilla to begin development on a follow-up, now tentatively titled Killzone 2.
When asked about the validity of this news, developers within Guerilla assured us that sequels were indeed planned (as the scope of the universe demanded from inception), but nothing official has yet been announced. Though the game is still not official, we managed to glimpse the cover of a design document, simply titled Killzone 2, which implies the project may be further along than the conceptual stage. Obviously, this got our attention.
We dug a little further and found it exceedingly diffi*** to uncover any real details, but when asked whether or not Killzone 2 would be a PlayStation 3 title, the developers at Guerilla very candidly said "No." Now the real question remains... Will Killzone 2 be on PlayStation 2 or PSP? No definitive answer was provided when we posed this question to company representatives.
Regardless of where it inevitably shows up, expect Killzone 2 to generate just as much hype as its predecessor, which we'll bring you more details on in the coming months. |
