February 23, 2006 - Bandai Namco Holdings announced today plans to make Banpresto into a wholly owned subsidiary. Currently, Bandai Namco owns 51% stock in Banpresto. The remaining shares will be acquired between 2/24 and 3/16 at a purchase price of 3,450 yen per share.

As reason for the purchase, Bandai Namco cited a desire to improve operating efficiency by strengthening ties between its group businesses, including game development and amusement facilities.
Banpresto is most famous for its popular Super Robot Wars series of strategy games..
