i am quite mad actually... why is this game getting such bad reviews? and i mean really bad too, not even decent... to me the game is quite fun and nowhere as bad as they try to make it out to be, plus why are so many complaining about the camera? i had not a SINGLE problem with it yet and i have put a couple hours into the game already, they make it sound like the camera in red ninja end of honor, lol, now that is a horrible game, this one works just fine
the setting to me is really cool... i love the gritty city feel, such as game like max payne too, so to roam around in these areas and have brawls all over the place is just real fun, i am happy to see that capcom brought final fight into the new systems... i even tried playing the original and its great to see how much times have changed, lol
so in conclusion i am saying atleast rent the game, the reviews are really off... most are under 5!!! some under 4... the highest is from 1up.com and thats a 6 something, to me i give it a good near 8 really, maybe everything for me came together really nicely in the game, from the fighting to the setting to the characters and the mood of it all, i can't believe capcom been dissed like this by dumb critics

I totally agree with you, Rikishi!
The game is fun, and MUCH better than the "professional reviewers" try to make it!
Jeez, IGN give it a 2 on graphics? What's wrong with the graphics? Its sure better than The Warriors, IMO!Combat is very fun.
Arcade mode goes back to the original FF, with simpler combat engine, and side scrolling camera!
Heck, IGN bashed Arcade's mode camera, witch is totally fixed, and above the player. You can clealy see everything! Only problem sometimes offscreen characters can hit you (like in the original FF)!

yea whats up with a 2 for graphics? lol, i would say about a 7? to me a 2 is like the original final fight's graphics so IGN must have been playing the port of the old one when they scored that category
p.s. i can't wait to unlock all the levels in arcade mode, i just unlocked one more so now two are open.. then it will all be open to play through by myself or with a friend, its quite cool how arcade mode as you said is like the original, just having the attacks and grabs, also having the fixed camera

They take into context of the overall, not just how it looks. Most games by this point in the system's lifespan have done away with "glued fingers". I thought it was pretty messed up that they couldn't animate the entire hand as well. And other than the main people you interact with, the other character models are quite bad. Still fun though.

I freaked out when I saw those reviews. Mainly because im planning on getting this today...Im a big time brawler fan though so no matter what I'll probably like it.
When I play this though, im definatly gonna be paying attention to see if the reviewers were right about how "terrible" this game is. I bet if R* made this game it would have scored a 7.8 or something =/ (select an action below) ______________ Quote Reply

Yeah, I think it's a fun game too. Reviewers really got it wrong this time. Hopefully good word of mouth will spread for this game and more people will try it out.

I agree, this game's not really that bad. I think too many games now days are too full of extra junk to inflate "play time" but FFSW is pretty to-the-point. I've played through a few stages and I haven't felt bored or like I was just going through too much repetitive bs yet.
The bonus original Final Fight port is terrible, though, heh. (select an action below) ______________ Quote Reply

Reviewers are out of control and out of touch...
they will review a game and compare to a game outside of its genre (whats the point in that)..
they also state opinion like it's fact...
case and point: gamespot's review of final fight states:
"The beat-'em-up is dead. Really, it's been dead ever since gaming went polygonal. Early 3D attempts like Fighting Force set the tone for games like Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance and Spikeout: Battle Street, making bad cameras and generic, boring action the new hallmarks of a genre that used to have no fewer than three stand-out games in it: Taito's Double Dragon, Sega's Streets of Rage, and Capcom's Final Fight. Fresh for 2006, Capcom has a new take on its series, the curse-filled fist-fest Final Fight: Streetwise. But all this game manages to do is further nail the genre's coffin closed, while sullying the good name of an arcade classic along the way."
THis is so wrong in numerous ways... Spike Out was the best brawler when it came out, dynamite cop and Zombie Revenge also awesome brawlers (all 3D! and classics)... but lets not forget x-men legends and def jam games... these are all brawlers too that actually sold in the millions... and namco's urban reign sold well enough... but reading the above paragraph would lead u to believe he is stating a fact... when in fact it's an opinion and unfounded, under researched one as well...
I dont even bother reading reviews anymmore, i'll read user reviews tho... the pro-reviews are jokes and its as if they go into the review already knowing what they are going to give the game...
A 2 on graphics, come on gta deserves a 2 but it gets an 8! There is no arguing around the fact that these dot com reviewers are just pulling these reviews out their rear.... I for one wish they would just ball up and dissappear... (select an action below) ______________ Quote Reply

I wonder how Play Magazine will review this game. I usually find myself agreeing with their reviews. Most of the time, not all the time. They are still the best magazine on the racks. They'll take a game no one has ever heard of and put it on the cover and dedicate 10 plus pages to it, pretty hardcore.. |
