世嘉在steam上卖了35万套MD模拟器和MD经典游戏

arlier this year SEGA made games from their Genesis and Mega Drive consoles available to download on Steam, and the move has paid off big time for them. The company has now revealed that since they allowed games from those consoles to be downloaded on April 28th of this year, over 350,000 games have been purchased between the two platforms.

SEGA of Europe director of digital distribution, James Schall, said the following about the impressive Steam sales numbers:

“We’re really chuffed that the fans have got behind this update. 350,000 sales is a phenomenal achievement for content which is over 20 years old! It shows that there’s still a huge following out for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis, reinvigorated by the fantastic community of modders out there uploading great content.”

Despite these being games from the company’s past doing well for them, the company has also expressed the intention to boost the quality of their games going forward. The reception of big games from the Sonic series in particular have been embarrassingly poor, which all came to a head with the recent Sonic Boom games. It remains to be seen when the next main Sonic game will happen, but hopefully it will get the series back on the right track again.
