Sony announced that PlayStation Now, their game streaming service previously limited to a small share of devices like the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Vita, is on its way to Windows PCs this spring.
PlayStation Now’s library has a number of popular PS3 games, including a ton of Sony-exclusive titles like the Uncharted series, The Last of Us and God of War. All of these will be accessible from the Windows application when it launches.
Sony’s also launching a DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor that will improve controller connectivity on PC/Mac as well as grant access to extra features of the DualShock like motion sensors and the stereo headset jack that don’t seem work when you simply connect over Bluetooth. Here’s the recommended specs for running PlayStation Now on your PC:
Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
Sound card; USB port
A minimum 5Mbps internet connection
PlayStation Now on PC will launch on August 24 in Europe, with North America following shortly thereafter. The price will stay at $US19.99 ($26) for one month or $US44.99 ($59) for three months. Australian availability and pricing has yet to be confirmed, but Australia typically follows the European release schedule.
