III...Number boxes

The second type of puzzle box in Onimusha 2 are what we dubbed
number boxes, don't get them confused with the boxes from the first one
though, they are quite different (and very easy if you ask me). You have a
field of numbers with some blanks on a panel in front of you with a row of
numbers along the bottom of the screen. At the very top of the screen there
will be a single number and your goal is to insert numbers from the
bottom into the empty spaces on the panel trying to make EVERY row, up and
down, left to right, and diagnoly, add up to that number exactally. It's
really not very hard if you can do the math.
* IIIa...Number box Solutions
* IIIa1...Gifu Castle - First single door on the left of the main
hall when you first enter the castle, room with a magic
spring and where you could enter the Dark Realm in the
first game. Solution:

* IIIa2...Oni's Sacred Place/Ogre Island - In the factory area, the
room with the magic spring and the door that needs an eye
to become unsealed. You have to enter this room twice so
you really can't miss it and it gives you a key that you
must have. Solution:

IV...Sliding boxes
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The final puzzle box type is the sliding box. These puzzle boxes are
pretty lame and are easy to do just fooling around. They have no real pattern
and theirs no time or move limit so eventually you will get it. You basically
have 5 or 7 hollows with some tiles in them, either a circle symbol one or a
diamond one and you just slide them back and forth until they match the
picture at the top. Easy. Each number corresponds to one of the tiles with 1
always on the left, counting up while going to the right.
* IVa...Sliding box solutions
* IVa1...Gifu Castle - In the room on the right pathway after the
locked door that needed the Moon Key, at the base of the
statue. The same room with the warp in it to the Demon Caves
where all the people are petrified.
Solution: 1-> 2-> 4-> 5-> 3-> 1-> 2-> 4-> 3-> done
* IVa2...Gifu Castle - After you cross the lake at Gifu Castle with
the boat, it is in the only room you can enter in front of
the statue.
Solution: 5-> 3-> 4-> 6-> 7-> 5-> 4-> 2-> 1-> 3-> 5-> 6->
4-> 2-> 3-> 5-> 4-> done

V...Dresser dial puzzle

We didn't put this puzzle solution in the FAQ at first because we
didn't think a lot of people would need help with it but by watching the
GameFAQs messages boards I guess we were wrong. The hardest part of the puzzle
may just be acctually finding the 2 paper fragments that you can put together
which will show you the solution to the puzzle, you then just turn the dials
on the dresser and match up the symbols with the animal. Below is listed how
many turns on each dial is needed to solve the puzzle. **NOTE: They changed
this puzzle in the US version making it simpiler, you just have to line up
the colored animals with those on the picture pieces you should have picked
up in the Manor.**

After the puzzle is solved, the circular incline in the middle of
the room opens up and a ladder extends out of the dresser into it.

VI...Nobunaga statue puzzle
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Nobunaga statue puzzle is another very easy puzzle in that the
only hard part about it is just finding the items needed for it, namely 3
statues of Nobunaga in different poses. Once you have all 3 statues bring them
to the room with the spikes on both sides of you in the building just past the
lake right after the Fog Forest/Valley. When you inspect the monitor in front
of you it will flash a picture of the statues lined up in a certain order,
then you just have to insert them in the 3 spaces in the same order, very
easy. The puzzle is totally random however so we can't just give you a
solution for it, insted we will list the locations of the 3 statues incase
you're having trouble finding them.
* VIa...Nobunaga statue locations
* VIa1...1st statue location - On the screen right before you go
over the wooden bridge to reach the Fog Valley. It's
hidden behind a green wind seal in a small cravase so you
must come back to it after you get the wind weapon at the
entrance to the Fog Valley.
* VIa2...2nd statue location - You get this one automatically after
you beat Ginghamphatts for the second time inside the
Fog Valley.
* VIa3...3rd statue location - After you get through the Fog Valley
go to the right insted of accross the lake and just
follow the path, you really can't miss it because it's
hidden behind another seal.
