微软Xbox最近宣布，4月10日将会在初代Xbox向后兼容性上进行“大更新”，但没有提供更多的信息。
Xbox发布了一段预告视频，其中包括初代Xbox的启动动画。有关游戏和内容的更多细节将很快公布。
‘Big update’ on original Xbox backward compatibility coming next week
Xbox recently announced that the second episode of Inside Xbox will air on April 10th at 3:30 p.m. PT, and that it will include some interesting information about original Xbox backward compatibility.
According to the announcement, news about original Xbox backward compatibility is one of the “most requested” for Inside Xbox, which premiered in its current form on March 11th. The April 10th episode will open with “a big update” on original Xbox backward compatibility, but Xbox didn’t offer any more information beyond that.
That doesn’t mean we don’t have ideas. Xbox posted a teaser video for the next Inside Xbox episode, featuring the startup animation for the original Xbox, and the video description is telling:
Everything old is new again as Inside Xbox returns on April 10, 2018. Additional details about the episode’s games and content will be unveiled soon. Tune in April 10 at 6:30pm EST / 3:30pm EST.
Our best hope is that Xbox means “everything” in a very literal sense: that every original Xbox game will become playable on Xbox One, even if they’re disc-only. In this imagined scenario, it’s possible that Xbox could keep adding original Xbox games periodically as digital downloads to the store, but players who already own the game discs will be able to play them.
Xbox definitely seems to be making a push to hark back to fans’ nostalgia for the original Xbox. The Duke, which is basically an original Xbox controller for your Xbox One, just went up for pre-order after the Inside Xbox announcement. This may give our idea a little more credence.

One thing that might temper our excitement a little is that Xbox previously stated that it expects “to release another curated list of Original Xbox classics in Spring 2018,” but we’re hoping that the news is bigger than just another 13 or so games coming to Xbox’s backward compatibility program.
