Rooney scored his first United hat-trick since his debut
Striker Wayne Rooney was delighted to show his recent goal drought was over with his first Premiership hat-trick in Manchester United's 4-0 rout of Bolton.
The 21-year-old said: "It's good to be back. There has been a lot of talk by a lot of people over the last few weeks saying I couldn't do it any more.
"So the feeling when the first goal went in was brilliant.
"It was a relief, especially as I had gone such a long time without scoring. To finish the hat-trick was nice."
After 10 games without a goal, ex-Everton star Rooney hit form against Bolton on Saturday, scoring twice in the opening 16 minutes before completing his treble late on.

It was the striker's first hat-trick since he marked his United debut with three goals in the 6-2 win against Fenerbahce in 2004.
"I am delighted and happy just to be back amongst the goals again and to have secured the three points in what was a big game for us," he added.
"I'm really proud and happy with the performance."
Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson, who celebrates 20 years in charge at Old Trafford on 6 November, revealed that he wants to win the Champions League one more time before he quits as Manchester United boss.

Ferguson has won eight Premier League titles, five FA Cups, two League Cups and a European Cup Winners' Cup and one European Cup with United.
And his side are looking like genuine Champions League contenders again, with three successive wins.
It means a point from Wednesday's trip to FC Copenhagen will be enough to secure a place in the knockout stage, with two matches to spare.
"It is a priority to do better in the European Cup and that will not change at this club because Europe is a motivation for us all the time," said Ferguson.
"In my time at United, we should have done better. In some years we have been unlucky, in others we have thrown it away and in others we were not good enough.
"But the bottom line is we should have had at least one more European Cup in my time at the club and hopefully we can do that before I ride off into the sunset."

同时Sir Alex Ferguson在11月6日庆祝为old trafford效力了20年时 向媒体宣称希望在辞退教练这一职前 能在这次的联赛中能过再一次带领队伍会的冠军的宝座。在ferguson的带领下的队伍赢得了8次的Premier League桂冠，5次英超，2次 联赛和一次欧锦赛。。。。
最重要的是他说：“最少我们也要赢得一次欧竞赛的桂冠在我还在俱乐部的这段时间里！”
