Hiroyuki and Shugo Takahashi, the current heads of Japanese video game developers Camelot Software Planning, recently spoke about We Love Golf and possible sequels for both the Golden Sun and Shining Force series.
In an interview with IGN, the two brothers said quite a number of things regarding We Love Golf. One of the more interesting discussions centered around the reasons that online support was added to the American and European versions of the game:
You know, we're a Japanese developer, but we really do have a lot of fans overseas and we wanted to do a little something extra for our American and European fans. That's the basic thinking behind why we put online behind these versions.
The two also spoke about developing We Love Golf for the Wii. They pointed out that it is "very cool and fun to use the Wii remote as a golf club in a game." However, it might not appeal to all audiences:
For an active player -- for someone who really wants to get into the golf aspects of playing a videogame -- we think using the Wii remote is probably the best way. But honestly, for a very, very casual user who just wants to have a fun, relaxing time with a game, it might be better to use a traditional button control system as well.
Finally, Hiroyuki and Shugo Takahashi discussed the possibility of sequels for some of Camelot Software's IPs. Here's what they had to say about it:
Honestly, just like your readers saying that they want to see a new Golden Sun, a new tennis game, a new Shining Force, well, everyone in Camelot feels the same way -- we really want to get these games out for you guys.
From all indications, it looks like we can expect some big things from Camelot Software Planning in the future.. |
