National insignia carried on intake trunks. Unit badges on tail fins below national insignia. Aircraft number, if carried, generally appears n the intake trunk, behind the national insignia, and repeated on the tail fins above the units badge.
Polish Splinter
A classic splinter/dazzle scheme used by the Polish Airforce, it is one of the few modern schemes that does away with the standard monochromatic underside.
Underside is DE Blue & Medium Gray Blue.
Polish Soft 3 Tone
A variation on the tried-and-true Soviet air superiority scheme first seen on Flankers, the Polish Soft 3 Tone uses broad diagonal lines to break up the SV silhouette. Also note the dielectric green radome & antenna, black wing gloves, bare metal gun pod and burnt metal exhaust trunks.
Underside is DE Blue.
“Red 1629”, 3rd Fighter Regiment, Poznan-Krzesiny. Small aircraft serial carried on tail fin only, centered.
“Red 115”, 28th Fighter Regiment, Slupsk, 2nd Squadron, 4th Flight. Polish 3 Tone.
“Black 64”, 11th Fighter Regiment, Wroclaw.
“Red 114”, 317th Squadron.
318th Squadron, no aircraft number carried.
Maid of Warsaw, signifies a fighter groups who have defended Warsaw from an attack. 317th Squadron, 3rd Regiment, and 28th Regiment.
“Black 46”, 32nd Tactical Reconnaissance Regiment, Sochaczew, 2nd Squadron.
Experimental aircraft designation worn on the first production aircraft procured by the SPRP. Aircraft was overall bare metal finish, with national insignia only. “SW-PWD” was carried on the intake trunks.
Experimental aircraft designation worn on the second production aircraft procured by the SPRP. Markings as above, with aircraft in splinter scheme and “SP-PWE” carried centered on the tail fins. |
