[MUL]Gearbox:多平台开发导致延期,PS3难搞定&《镜之边缘》光棍节发售

Gearbox's Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) has been delayed for almost two whole years now. It was originally scheduled for a holiday 2006 release and is now slated for next week. So, what's with the holdup, Gearbox?

According to Hell's Highway director Jeramy Cooke, they had no problems with the game itself. Multiplatform development was the major culprit. Here's what he told MTV Multiplayer:


This is the first time we have done a big, multi-platform game in-house, and it was brand-new technology, as well. You kind of expect when you buy off-the-shelf software [Unreal Engine 3] that you’re just going to be up and running on all three platforms. We made a lot of changes to the engine, so each platform reacts to those changes differently. There’s a lot to follow up and that kind of stuff, trying to make it work right on all the different platforms.


Cooke also explained that the game's PS3 version gave them the most trouble since they had to build up PlayStation expertise from scratch for Hell's Highway. PlayStation versions of previous Brothers in Arms games were farmed out to other developers who were more familiar with Sony consoles.

We'll soon see if Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is indeed worth the two-year wait. The game's Xbox 360 and PS3 versions come out on September 23 in North America, September 25 in Australasia, and September 26 in Europe.

  Gearbox(《光环》PC版,《异性》)的《战火兄弟连 地狱之路》从原定的06年改为08年的下周发售,已经延期了近两年,那么GEARBOX现在怎么样了呢?

  近日MTV Multiplayer采访了《地狱之路》的导演Jeramy Cooke,他抱怨说,游戏本身没什么难做的,游戏的多平台开发才是延期的罪魁祸首。
  “我们是第一次搞如此多平台的家用机项目,也采用了许多新技术。和你们现在玩到的三平台虚幻3大同小异不一样的是,我们针对虚幻引擎做了优化,所以每个平台的开发对于这种改变的反应是不同的,这些优化都是为了能够最大化的发挥不同主机各自的性能。”

  Jeramy Cooke同时透露游戏的PS3版最难搞定,他们不得不用熟悉索尼主机开发环境的前作制作人组成团队专攻PS3版。
  
  我们不久将见到次世代兄弟连新作的风采,也许多等待两年是值得的,游戏的PS3和XO版将于9.23日在北美发售,澳洲9.25,而欧洲是9.26。

另外,EA的《镜之边缘》发售日公布,1111,多平台发售,预定游戏可以得到密码,在LIVE和PSN上即将出来的DEMO里使用密码即可以网络对战。

This is for those who have been waiting patiently for news on Mirror's Edge (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) release date. According to Electronic Arts, the game will be released on November 11.

You might want to pre-order the game next week as well - those who do will get a code that unlocks the game's Time Trial mode in the demo when it comes out on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Store.

The demo will contain the prologue of the game, including the tutorial and a small portion of the single-player story mode. If you pre-order the game and get Time Trial, you'll be able to race against other players across the rooftops and streets.

Unfortunately, no release date was announced yet, but we'll keep you updated.

这游戏玩的是战术, 画面和COD确实不好比[s:247]

PS3又在拉后腿了,真不明白为什么要等PS3版一同发售?!反正迟了,SF会说他们的是完全版!
