Yesterday, the developers of Gitbrew announced they would release RSX Documentation for the PlayStation 3 if they received enough donations within 24 hours. Well, the people came through and achieved this goal, and thanks to them, we can all enjoy the benefits of having RSX documentation at our finger tips.
昨天,Gitbrew开发小组宣布只要在24小时内收到足够的捐款他们将放出PS3的GPU RSX的相关技术文档。当然啦,他们的目的达到了,多亏他们,现在我们可以享受手头上RSX技术文档带来的好处。
The heart of the Playstation 3 is made up of two processors: the CPU (Cell Broadband Engine), and the GPU (RSX Reality Synthesizer). With this documentation, homebrew is no longer restricted to the CELL Broadband Engine and it's various SPUs. Now authors and developers on the scene can use this information to bring about new and updated works, such as emulators and homebrew games.
PS3的核心部分包含两块处理器:CPU处理器 (Cell Broadband Engine), GPU图形处理器(RSX Reality Synthesizer). 现在有了RSX的技术文档后,自制软件的开发运行将不再局限于CELL处理器和它的那几个SPU,开发者们现在可以利用RSX GPU开发出更加给力的自制软件,例如模拟器,自制游戏等。。。
PS:由于技术上的限制,目前PS3的自制软件的执行基本上都是靠CPU的,这样导致某些软件执行效率很低,如模拟器,播放器等,现在RSX文档的放出,意味解放了GPU,开发者们利用RSX可以做出更加强大的自制软件。例如showtime播放器,现在可以利用GPU来加速了,效果与速度肯定会上一个台阶。 |
