DQ8 PS2 orchestral sounds like shit on good speakers though.  It's off, timing is off, the tuning is off, it wasn't properly tweaked for the PS2, just slapped on.  The saddest part is the original Japanese release of DQ8 3DS had the orchestrated version placed in from the get-go, but since Sugiyama always encodes and creates his original work in Midi format, and prefers it that way, the NA/EU 3DS releases were given the Midi soundtrack.

At least it's not the 8 and 16-bit midi, though the 16-bit has some really cool reverb that sounds like an orchestral hall in the recordings, but rather the midi-synth version that mimics proper instruments.  It definitely sounds good, but I definitely would have preferred they prepped the orchestrated version and properly implemented it for us.  Oh well, we DO have VA work, which is new to this version, something the Japanese were unlucky enough not to have.

They voiced it!? Yes!! I swear people better not bitch about this like they do towards everything else...the lack of ni no kuni's 2 voice acting has really been rubbing me the wrong way other than that it's a fun game
