Chivu deal edges closer

Cristian Chivu’s transfer to Inter will be officially announced this afternoon after Marco Andreolli signed for Roma last night.
The youngster, who was a target for Cagliari as part of the deal which brought David Suazo to the San Siro, has now been included in the Chivu transfer, which was finalised on Thursday.
After lengthy negotiations, it is reported that the clubs finally agreed a ?m switch plus half of Andreolli’s contract.
The Italy Under-21 international penned a four-year agreement worth ?50,000 per season and will join the capital city club in a free co-ownership move.
Chivu has already agreed to a five-year deal with Inter worth ?m per season and is expected to hold a Press conference at the Trigoria training centre this afternoon to bid farewell to his teammates and explain the reasons behind his decision.
The Romanian defender will then travel to Milan to join his new outfit before departing with the rest of the team for London.
The Nerazzurri are playing in the Emirates Cup this weekend against Arsenal and Valencia before facing Manchester United and Aston Villa on August 1 and 4.
