7.0 Presentation
Load times are fast and the menus are functional, but the cutscenes are a bit repetitive and the small list of 20 real-life athletes is a little disappointing.
7.0 Graphics
AM2's animations during the match are good stuff and the 1080p support is a nice feature. Player close-ups are freakin' ugly, though, and the NPC spectators barely ever move.
6.0 Sound
Virtua Tennis 3's soundtrack borders on "Cinemax at Midnight" but the audio effects do their job and it's neat to see the judges speak in different languages based on your court's location.
7.5 Gameplay
The mechanics are pushing the 10-year mark, but its coin-op influence is still fun. As a bonus, there's even a Sixaxis control option that, while not intuitive, makes for a novel go at it.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
The mini-games and world tour mode should eat up a dozen or so hours of your time, but without online play, you'll never be able to match your skills against the best of the best.

Nice animations and good motion-capture work, but plain textures and simplistic visual design won't wow gamers.

The attract mode music is par for the course, but the lack of musical variety is tiring. Pro players' yelps of missed shots are funnier than they are believeable.
8.0 Gameplay
Good, solid controls and mechanics. A deep career mode provides depth and longevity and the Court Games add a lot of easy-to-access fun.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
Xbox LIive support is solid here with four-player singles and doubles games and VT.TV for spectating.
