Team Wasabi is working on a configuration disc for their modchip . Actually, most of the work is done already, but it can take a couple of weeks for the official release.
I just wanted to let you know that it is coming and probably it will contain a region free setting, so you can turn it on or off as desired (region free is enabled by default on Wasabi).
