2016年APU制程升级16nm省电50%

打算买Xbox One的人可以等等 2016年初的 16nm版了。

TSMC manufactures the chips for all game consoles.

Slim X1/PS4 would not happen until 16nm was ready and cheaper than 28nm (20nm skipped, bad process).

TSMC now shipping 16nm chips with a big production scheduled for Q4 (hint: iPhone 6S).

16nm may now be ready for the console space next year meaning there is a good chance of Slim consoles in 2H. At the least, an internal chip revision to a smaller, cooler board.

If you are holding off for a console purchase until '16 you might want to wait until the 16nm revision hit. They will be a huge drop in power consumption (50%) over current console and thus much smaller.
