Despite our repeated warnings, it continued to penetrate our ADZ and is fired upon by Osean coastal defense force SAMs. We believe one of our SAMs damaged the unknown plane, but did not destroy it. Radar shows that the aircraft is currently losing altitude and is attempting to egress feet wet toward the ocean.
Intercept this target and force it to land for identification. Do not fire upon this target until further orders are transmitted.

原文是 Motormouth Chopper ， Motormouth 所谓的马达嘴，形容喋喋不休的人，
“机关枪”这一译非常有中文特色的说^^，但建议加***解吧，避免让人产生 Motormouth=机关枪 的直接误解

drew the short straw 是非常西方文化的短语。 straw:稻草，麦秆。这里表示类似“抽到了短签”的意思，因为让Wardog来执行这个任务，而且让有点懒懒得Chopper来和不明飞机通话送信号弹。^_^

的确如此，不过也有个歧义的说法是CHOPPER 嘲笑主角的：“伙计，很高兴你替我飞这个位置”(指抽短签的人飞最后)

Gear 在航空术语中一般指起落架。Gear Down 为放下起落架，Gear Up 收起起落架 ，但在汽车术语中却分别为 减速 和 加速 换档.... 在这里表示什么的确很有争议性的说， Lower your gear 若是放下起落架的还有点勉强，因为要放下的话，就得先减速， 否则高速飞行中强行放下的话，会被吹掉的＝＝b。

最后一段，我原先的翻译…………自己汗一下，以为bartlett是在作比喻，再汗……还有原来看《成长的烦恼》里面Ben打***热线那一集，所以联想到这样了……再再汗～～～

按japp的意见，把学习笔记都放到每一話的帖子中，这次由于有两位大虾帮忙，笔记丰富了起来，往下看吧，很多是很难得的知识哦～^_^

第一个遇到的就是它了：

"What? Hey, maintain radio silence. Everybody wants to be a flight lead, but you gotta earn it."

一开始不知道maintain radio silence是甚么意思，只查词霸晓得可能是“维持无线电静默”，问了不少网上的，都是这个答案，但觉得放句子中说不通，有在字幕组干过的都知道，翻译是需要想象力和结合能力的，所以从上下文来看，我们就得意译，幸好JAPP给与了最佳答案：“甚么？嘿，还没到你下命令的时候，（就得给我保持安静）。每个人都想做队长，但你们得用行动争取这个。”
其实，后来在游戏中，这个句子是在那里出现的呢，我回游戏玩了下，原来就是M1的，当我们的BLAZE还不是队长的时候，在任务中，玩家如果下达指令，Bartlett就会说："What? Hey, maintain radio silence. Everybody ……"  呵呵，明白了吧。

MISSION 1：

1。

ADZ : air-defense zone：防空领域。第一开始，简报（简报是Briefing）的时候说的。

2。

Do not fire upon this target until further orders are transmitted.：直到进一步指示之前，不要向目标开火。

这一句比较多，因为第一关基本上就是要将不明来图的飞机牵引到地面降落确认身份（来国）。所以后面AWACS给你的很多话都是类似这个。一般每个国家遇到这样的事情先派出飞机，但上级不会让你攻击，只让你给它警告，卸下武装甚么的。

这里不知道大家还记不记得我们国家曾经的***事件：美国的侦察机非法飞入我国领空，我国派出两架歼击机，但是美国飞机突然转向，***试图逼停，致使方机撞毁，至今还没有下落。所以，这个是很敏感的问题，万一不小心攻击了，就会造成国际冲突。

那么遇到后，引导不明来机，要怎么交流，第一句话当然是警告咯，警告甚么呢？这个任务就由我们的Chopper“荣幸”来给对方Radio了：

Chopper:     "Uh...we will direct you to the nearest airfield. Lower your gear if you understand". 我们会带你到最近的飞机场，如果你们听明白了，就放下起落架以表示确定。”

Lower：在这里有降低/或放下的意思。  Gear：不是表示装备的意思，也不是表档位。   一般在遇到不明飞机闯入领空的情况，就要对其警告的，记得雪風的第4话，雪風进入地球，日本舰队就派出了两架飞机，跟在雪風身边，并要求其解除武装（当然这也只是翻译版本），另外gear也可以表示飞机的起落架，所以，句子也可以翻译成“如果你听明白了的话，请放下起落架表示确认”。

Bartlett          Hmm. That does fit you well...I've got a better name for you, but I'll keep it to myself. Okay?        
             嗯……那名字还真挺适合你……我给你想了个更好的名字，但我还是留着自己了。好吗？

Chopper          Aw, cut me some slack, man!
             噢哦，放我一马，伙计！

cut me some slack:     一句很俚语的话，意思大概是“放某人一马”，这里翻译“饶了我吧”。

Chopper          Man, I'm glad you drew the short straw instead of me!
              伙计，很高兴你替我飞这个位置^^！

drew the short straw 是非常西方文化的短语。  straw:稻草，麦秆。这里表示类似“抽到了短签”的意思，因为让Wardog来执行这个任务，而且让有点懒懒得Chopper来和不明飞机通话送信号弹。^_^     不过也有个歧义的说法是CHOPPER 嘲笑主角的：“伙计，很高兴你替我飞这个位置”(指抽短签的人飞最后)

6。

age before beauty这个也是俚语。表示“老鸟、老人、有经验者优先、先请”的意思。这里前面是Bartlett给他取外号聊他，说要不要他给Chopper一个机会放投向信号。

Chopper 就说：“Oh no, please, age before beauty. ”

^_^，真是恭恭敬敬的阿。

AWACS Thunerhead                 Warning! We have four high-speed bogeys inbound.
                                  Approaching unknown aircraft bearing 280, altitude 6,000! Hold your fire until further orders!

Bogey inbound：bogey妖怪, 可怕的人(物).但在俚语里面是：不明飞行物、侦探或***的意思。
inbound :归航的  n.入站  。    Bogey inbound就是表明发现不明飞机咯，这里之所以用它，是怀疑多半是敌机吧。

AWACS Thunerhea        Wardog Squadron, weapons safe! Hold your fire until further orders!

weapons safe：不是安全，是安全栓打开的意思。有玩过枪的都知道，武器为避免不小心走火，都有safe装置，这是基本的。

engaging
虽然这个很简单，但还是强调一下。engaging其实不是锁定，我原来翻译真羞愧啊。其实要看情况说。发现敌机后，队长下达“engaging ”，是说“进入交战”，而一般在近距离交火或准备开火情况下，应该是“交火”的意思。“交战”和“交火”还是有区别的。

10。

Hold your fire.和Keep firing。
Hold有保持和保留的意思。那这里到底是持续开火还是不要开火呢？其实是持住，不要开火。军事用语。保持开火在正规用语里用“Keep firing”。

11。

Heads up又一个术语。不是加盖子，也不是拉起、抬头甚么的。专用术语——“提高警惕！”、“小心”、“看好”的意思。

AWACS Thunerhead        I don't know what this "Booby" thing is about, but I'm going to call you Blaze, according to regulations.
Ask                    我不知道你们的Booby是甚么，但我决定按规章还是叫你Blaze。

AWACS Thunerhead        I'll take that to mean you have no objections.
Mute                    不说话就表示你默认了。

I'll take that to mean you have no objections.objections,异议, 拒绝之理由。

13。

All information regarding today's hostile encounter is to be classified.
在战斗结束后。司令部一份报告中这样一句声明，给Bratlett的，并传呼了他。
意思是“所有关于今日的遇敌战的情报全部归入机密档案（不可对外透露）。”信息管制

接下來就有了***记者Genette的：Having witnessed the battle myself, I wasn't allowed to leave the island. 我自己作为战斗的目击者，被禁止离开沙鳥了。

(Genette)         Who do you think's covering up the battle?
                 （今次的战斗）是谁在背后干的呢？ （当然，作为信息管制的一环，翻译“是谁在掩盖这场战争”从语法上也是正确的，但根据当场的两个人说话的环境、语调，我认为Genette作为一个记者，是职业病的问话吧，所以，对于今天发生的不明来机的事情，一定有兴趣知道个“为什么”——就是“是谁派来的飞机”？）       

(Bartlett)          Listen... The only thing across that ocean is Murska Air Base. That's Yuktobanian territory.
                 （要问是谁？）听好了……大洋那一边的唯一一样东西，就是Murska空军基地。那是Yuktobanian的领土。

上面说完了，接着就是这两句：

(Genette)           But haven't we been allies with the Yukes since the war 15 years ago?        
                    但是我们和Yuke共和國在15年前不就已经是盟国了吗？

(Bartlett)              Yeah. That's why we got people working their asses off trying to confirm what the hell's going on over there. I bet they've got hotlines ringing off the hook somewhere upstairs.
                  The government doesn't wanna get the public riled up with all this, you know? But, it doesn't matter, soldiers like us are too stupid to think for ourselves, so we just gotta keep our mouths shut when they tell us to. I feel kinda bad for you, actually.        
                  是的， 这就是为什么我们的人正为了确认 究竟发了怎么一件回事 而忙淂不可开交。我敢打赌他们楼上的热线电话正响不应接呢（或响个不停）。（指他们的通讯部不停地联系总部和各个部门，甚至和Y国进行交涉等等）
                 你知道，政府不想因为这些事情而造成***。但是，已经无关紧要了，因为像我们这样的士兵想太多是愚蠢行为，所以，当他们说闭嘴时，闭嘴就是了。我都开始有点同情你了，真的。

Bartlett说的话时很难懂的，其中有带有诙谐成分，所以也不能直译。
working one's asses off:
其实... one's ass off没有实意，就是为了加强语气和强调。one's ass off就是表示“某件事情做得很多很严重”。
也就是说，如果你在句子末尾看到“my ass off”或者“his ass off”，总之不管是谁的ass，这部分统统可以被忽略，直接看前面的意思。比方这里，bartlett说的就是“我们的人千方百计的、不辞辛劳的就是想确认他们（Yuke）到底在干什么！”——可不是什么“拍屁股走人”的意思哟。例如：I have been working my ass off = I have been working too much，明白？

hotline：热线。
ringing off the hook ：短语，Hook是电话的听筒，所以短语的意思是不停的挂断电话，表示电话忙个不停。

tally ho, 战斗时确认到敌人, 经常出现, tally ho on enemy formation
"Tally Ho!"--当飞行员发现（在飞行员的视野之内）敌机时，飞行员可能会说这句话。（Macross Zero ep1里Shin在于3架MIG-29作战时。后坐的RIO-Edgar Lasalle就说过"Tally Ho!"）Tally Ho!大概可以理解为：Visual Contact with a bandit/bandits

Sheesh ： 这个词太难了，至今没找到确切的翻译，我认为是一语气词，要找到对应的中文语气词不容易，还要看语境，原文是：Chopper     Sheesh. Testing, testing...Attention, unidentified aircraft. 是“却～”？还是“嘘”？我认为应该是“嘘”，因为他们正在讲话，而这个时候发现有状况，所以后面他说“Testing，Testing……”证明他发现情报后要大家别做声（我来测试一下，是不是真的有敌机来了，或是甚么来了），所以“……”一会儿过后就大喊“Attention”了。

解释为： Describes the phone ringing incessantly 。没有暗示什么Y国搞内幕之类的。
和 Buy the farm 一样 ， 是个习俗性的形容，不能拆开来翻译滴～～
